For some reason as well, some nations in this node have caravan power (despite it not being an inland node) and I do not, despite having a merchant there and over 2k development.

Merchants have caravan power if they are in an inland node, or pushing trade towards one. Presumably your competitors are sending trade to Samarkand.

What I find annoying about caravan power is when AI nations send merchants on random errands with no hope of profiting, but you have to take those merchants seriously because of caravan power. For instance, I recently saw Provence have a merchant send trade from Samarkand to Persia, when Provence doesn't own anything east of the French region. (Provence doesn't have merchants in Persia, or Aleppo, or anywhere else that would move that trade towards Genoa.) I don't mind the idea of caravan power, but it really ought to diminish as you get further away from any provinces owned by the merchant's country. At least the devs should discourage the AI from just trolling random routes like this.

So I'm assuming this still isn't fixed? Been waiting for this to be resolved before I play again.
You would like to think that hotfixes was created for these kind of situations, but alas...

"We gor our money from the latest dlc, let the plebs/betatesters suffer until we roll out 1.7" is probably a very common phrase in the paradox tower at the moment...

I'm not nearly as cynical when it comes to PDS based on their track record over recent years. I'm sure it will get fixed eventually. I hope sooner rather than later, because I would like to play EU4 again

It's been a month and change, and there's still no fix to a honestly monstrous bug. This isn't exactly sparkling performance on Paradox's part.

Hello. Playing holland and protecting trade in the lubeck trade node is not increasing my trade power.

Here you can see me protecting trade. Been doing this for a couple months to make sure it was not some weird display glitch. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=676833044

Then here is me having 0 trade power from my fleet. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=676832897

The forty trade power is solely from my downstream trade.

Just started a game with Holland, I'm having the exact same problem.

Please fix it.
