First, I too want my life back. Cities is WAY too much fun.
Second, I must be doing something wrong manipulating highway interchanges to place them accurately on the map. First, I bulldoze the lanes to give me room and then I try to place the interchange. It seems to be much too difficult. Maybe a two-step process: first lock in the rotation and then move it to the right location so the rebuilt highway lanes aren't too strange.
That is pretty much my only on-going aggravation with the game. I've come to see that the other annoyances were all user-error. Perhaps this one is too. Any tips on this would be appreciated.
