Hello there,

First of all, sorry if this question was answered before

Let's say we are Britain and we land in Southern Italy. Our landing succeeds and we "liberate" the country. Now, rather than just liberating, can we choose to keep this land as part of Great Britain(Italy dissapears) ? If we choose to, how will it affect diplomacy(for example with our Allies ?)

i don't think it would affect your diplomacy. the majors split up germany and each had a stake, only allowing them self-governance after some time. it wouldn't be ahistorical.

as an democratic nation it is much more expensive to annex non-core territory than for fascist or communist countries. You can do it, but you wont be able to fully annex or take too much territory. If you have imperialist ambitions you will most likely swap to fascism or communism anyway. Communists can puppet countries alot cheaper, while fascists can declare emergency wars if they are already at war with an great power without justifying wars.

germany was occupied, not annexed. It would be extremely ahistorical if democratic nations could annex countries. The allies each had zones of occupation.

in the game, i don't think you can occupy after the peace conference has taken place. so i think you'd have to annex them, if you wanted to simulate history.
