Hello,

I'm running into a problem and can't seem to find an answer.

All industry buildings are locked, stating that my areas are LVL 0 and are unlocked at LVL 1+. I created all 4 zones/districts/areas, forestry, farm, oil and ore. Put industrial zones in them and by now all are fully build and all being productive n stuff. Yet all the buildings are still locked, how do I unlock them?

Kind regard,

Me

so you have a maintenance building in every zone? you're talking Industries DLC, right?

...and what do you mean they're productive AND locked?

Hello,

Maintenance buildings are locked, as in black, not available, unselectable, unbuildable.

It says I need a LVL 4 farming area.

How do I level up my farming area?
are you talking about vanillia zones e.g. farming districts or Industries DLC farming zones? which are painted on the map separately? or are you confusing the two?

I have all the major expansion DLC's, I am able to build 4 specialized industry area's (iron, oil, farm, wood) that I first need to highlight (or sumtin), so i have 4 zones, i can rename them, they have the according industries in them, all working fine and dandy, but it doesnt tell me anywhere in the game or online, how to level up my specialized industrial areas.

I included a screenshot, hope that makes it all make sense.

What you have is the old zoned industry district, which is different from the industry areas that come with the Industries DLC. To make an industry area you start by painting in an area, very similarly to how you make a district. The difference is you use the Industry Area tool instead.

Once you've painted an area with that tool, the main buildings for the different Industries unlock. You then place a main building in the area, which will determine the type of area. So if you are making an oil industry area, you place down the oil industry main building. That then unlocks more oil buildings and you can start building up your industry.

The area will also show the level and when you click the name of it, it will show a new menu with more details about the industry area, the production and profit.

Each level up requires you to produce a certain amount of resources and employ a certain number of people. When both are met, the area will level up, unlocking more buildings.
