The game is fun for me now. Whereas it was "Wait for the new patch, adjust to the AE scale, rinse and repeat" for me before. Also the hours of pop-up watching for an opportunity in the web of alliances... Definitely not missed that either.

I was thinking more in terms of new features or overhauled features. The problem with AE was the constant knee jerk U turns on whether to have tons of AE or no AE, and whether vassal feeding was supposed to be the right way to expand or not.

Hordes were really tedious to play well after a while and I always found myself becoming unduly bored long before the 1600s. Ongoing changes to hordes have minimized how often I make the terrible mistake of wanting to play one.

Honestly, I think that Common Sense is probably going to be remembered as one of the most important expansions for EU4 - assuming that it works reasonably well within a couple weeks of release.

To my... significant surprise, I've actually found my Golden Horde game quite engaging (and intermittently enraging) all the way into the 1600s. (1625-1630ish now, and still unreformed. I might do something about that soon, I would like at least a small bite of the Admin Efficiency cherry.)

It has not changed very much from when I bought it on release, my friend even refused to patch the game so I think he still plays 1.0 version lol.

Personally the aztecs and Inca in El Dorado which introduced very interesting mechanisms during peace time.

Can't wait for 1.12 and those forts...
Imagine, you siege and take one or two russian forts and all of a sudden, the whole of Russia is opened to you...

Honestly, I think that Common Sense is probably going to be remembered as one of the most important expansions for EU4 - assuming that it works reasonably well within a couple weeks of release.

I dunno, I don't think forts will have that much of an impact in SP as people think it will. It just basically establishes wave sieging as the proper (only) way to siege vs Carpet sieging.

AOW and Wealth of Nations, probably had the biggest impacts changes.

AOW being the best DLC Pdox has released so far (perhaps tied with old gods in ck2).

I would say the diversity in general. One can do multiple diverse things in every single game. You can do things like client states, trade companies etc etc. A better word would be choice or options, there are many but they aren't necessarily needed.
