So after trying to see how to get the Venetian Trade Power achievement I started looking for YouTube Let's Play if there were any good movies around. Found this one, any thoughts?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNcSp1dpWhc

Well first if all, EU4 is already too time consuming to also look at a video of 8 hours, but it seems interesting nontheless..

Also, given, there is no right or wrong ways to play the game. Yet I think he makes almost every mistake there is to make playing as Venice, for example expanding into the balkans ready to be squezed by the Ottomans, his decisions on who to ally, and a few more, like building tons of cogs, and annexing his vazals. But as I said, sure there is no right or wrong.

Now I wonder are there any better Lets Play strategies arround? I am curious to see if there are others posting their tactics.

My starting strat for Venice, which is geared toward breaking the Ottomans early:

Ally Poland, claim Morea.
Revoke guarentee on Knights.
Build up to land FL and enough cogs to transport them 18iirc.
Dow Byz, they should call in Serbia.
Vassalise Serbia, then Byz.
Use Serbian CB to feed them Bosnia and Ragusa.
Go over FL on galleys.
Dow Ottomans, wipe out their fleet and strait block.
Occupy Greece and let Otto WE climb.
Eventually they will peace for all byz cores and release Bulgaria (alternatively let Bulgaria revolt)
10-15 years you control all Balkans and Greece enjoy.

The Solar Gamer hasn't played EU4 since Art of War came out, so I wouldn't rely on those videos.
I can't remember anyone doing this achievement run off the top of my head either.
Maybe I should schedule it as my next one?
What are your own thoughts on it?

Altought I didnt manage to get the achievement, I liked playing for it so far. Recommenend it a lot. Especially the first 100 years are interesting. Especially remaining the #1 worldpower with only 10 provinces, actually I wanted to start a new thread based on the post your EU4 empire, where instead of going for a WC I suppose to show what can be achieved with a limited provinces. Much more a challange.

My own tactic so far was, only conquering trade-bonus provinces. Claim morea, conquer Constantinople, vazalise Byzantium. Feed Ottoman provinces to Byzantium. Conquer the egyptian trade provinces. I heard that getting the Geonoa trade-provincing for tarde-bonus could be essential. If all this doesnt work, I am going to feed to a protectorate.
