oh my god, I love how many votes Byzantium has. 190 8D

You better be the best autokrator ever. Else we'll castrate you and replace you with someone hopefully more Byzantine.

Not Sure they are independent at this time in history. Also, the provinces aren't that small so I am assuming it's incorporated into Provence or Savoy.

Haha, that would be an interesting game... or not. Are they independent in November 1444? If I remember correctly they were in October 1399 (EU3), but I doubt they survived long even if I am right.

You remember it wrong. They were independant in some late date, somewhere after patritions...

207 Now.

Ahh, you can count on me! Though if I succeed I might want to experiment with a new government form. ;)

Oops... my mistake then.

I think it counts for "Byzantium" when I say play the Roman Empire and restore it to it's rightful place in the world ;)

Salve Roma!

looks pretty clear poll says byzantium, and you mention maybe doing 1 other, which looks like venice atm

Definitely. However, I am not 100% sure on doing a second one. Though when I do, I don't think Venice will be in there because of it's proximity to Byzantium and the similar diplomatic game.

Aaah too bad, I wanted to have a deeper better at trade with Venice...Well that's ok

Trade is also something I am very keen on exploring. I can say that the way I am planning, trade will be KEY in the Byzantine game. Who knows... maybe Rome can be a republic once again? ;)

Nobody can beat Basileia Rhomanion.

Nobody

*Insert exception for me*

Everybody will be playing and Let's Playing Byzantium from the beginning. Something like The Hansa, Brandenburg or Switzerland would actually have been way cooler to see, in my opinion. Looking forward to it nonetheless.

I actually doubt that. I don't know many let's players who have enough experience with paradox games to take on Byzantium. However, I can imagine that there will be quite a few AAR's in the first few weeks.

Ohh, and don't worry. At some point in time before the end of the year (probably) I will definitely have begun a second EU IV let's play and I am very keen on Switzerland or the Hansa. But first I have to do this one, ROME II and maybe if you guys really like the idea... a "Role-playing/realistic" CKII-EUIV game. (Which I would LOVE to show off.

I like Byzantium idea. Good nation to showcase the coalition mechanics, supporting rebels (province flipping). My imagination runs wild. Building the front against the Ottomans with early PU with Naples or other Italian state with good navy, getting big guns like Austria or Hungary into coalition.

Will Byzantium get negative relation modifier for annexing Greek minors?
