Let's give Paradox Launcher a constructive feedback

PLEASE READ :

Let's have constructive thoughts as paradox fans/customers about the Paradox Launcher :
I would like to gather here all the feedbacks with that specific thread
here as user about the paradox launcher for IMPROVEMENT.

Thanks paradox team for following that project. Sounds promising. But the forum seems a bit empty about it....(i already posted some points about installtion issue, but there is no feedback thread).

For paradox launcher users : It is still in beta. Brings your ideas/feedback here for improvement here in this thread...

The main issue for me is the update of the game.

1st point : Stellaris V 2 has been released and my paradox launcher can't update it because the set-up option
can't offer a button to update the game.. here is a simple idea for improvement as a starting feedback.
Once a version is installed (for instance the boulle 1.9...), i can't get access to other newer versions (the version 2.0)....

And 2nd point , if when I buy a new stellaris DLC, the launcher can't download it automatically. Otherwise i have to uninstall the whole game and reinstall it for getting the DLC installed.

Please Paradox team, why not a developers diary about the launcher ??

Thanks for taking the time to write feedback! As you know, the launcher is a bit rough right now but it can't be approved without feedback. If I understand correctly, these are bugs right, that you do not get the latest version? It should automatically give you the latest version, with an option to go back to old versions. Both the download of latest version and download of DLC should work without you having to do anything.

@Mrop , i have two main complaints regarding the Launcher, and possibly one request...

- complaint one : it won't take in account any of the DLC i bought for Stellaris, apparently.
- complaint two : i bought Tyranny on the Paradox shop before Launcher supported it... and it won't appear in the Launcher.

- request : speed things up... i'd rather use Paradox Launcher, and not Steam...

Did you check your DLC list ? (my example here :


).
From my experience with the launcher :

uninstall it from program files, even the paradox folder manually.

reboot your PC.

Reinstall the paradox launcher. Reinstall Stellaris.
You will get get Stellaris V 2 now with the dlc you own

Launch Stellaris connection windows (=picture above for mine), your DLCs list should be correct.

Noticed the launcher option too while browsing the shop this past week. I wonder what this will add? since all paradox games will need the steam platform anyway.

for upper version : the update message and button have just appeared today for updating 2.0.0 into 2.0.1

Still i have another message error after clicking on "update now" button:
"To update a game you need to be online.
DISMISS"

LOL, so how can i post on the forum now if i am not "online" according to the launcher.... ?
The launcher is turning wonky...

i guess i was impatient.... launcher works....update 2.0.1 is coming...



advice here for newbies on the launcher :
if status show "disconnected" at top right, we have to wait for status 'connnected', then after "update" button works

i guess my internet was turning wonky (me too ), not the launcher

Np at all. This thread is meant for that : a feedback thread i have created as a customer. Share more user experiences.

I really want the paradox launcher to be a success. Steam monopoly has gone too far... Let's give a chance to the Paradox launcher for our favorites strategy games

Hello David, how nice to meet you.

Two small feedback aspects :
- there seems to lack the top right button to expand to the full screen
- the Paradox Launcher tells me none of the DLCs are installed, not allowing me to install them... but the Stellaris Launcher shows me they are all available

My feedback on the launcher:- I need a reason to use it.

At the moment, the only game it supports that I'm interested in is Stellaris. But the Launcher doesn't offer the same functionality as Steam does: the auto-update and opt-in beta systems, and the far more extensive mod support. Add the number of bugs I see reported and I just turn away.

It seems to be a niche within a niche, and destined to remain that way unless we the players are given a real reason to want to use it.

(No, a forum icon wouldn't be enough for me!)
