SPOILERS!

So I went to Lethian's Crossing right after my first chat with Tunon, since he suggested I start there to look for evidence. I figured going to Cacophony would move the main quest right along, and I wanted to grab my first upgradable spire ASAP. Do a few side quests, blah blah. The mayor says he has a problem with Bane in the Old Walls, and he sealed part of them up to prevent them getting out.

So I go in the Old Walls, and...no Bane. I see the sealed door that they're supposed to be behind, but of course I can't open it. How am I supposed to solve his problem if I can't get to them? I also assume the final charcoal rubbing for the seal is behind this door.

I was able to solve the seal without the last tracing, but after you gain the spire the quest is marked completed. Am I completely missing something?

Hi @Battican and @Zekk!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. If you could, would you mind posting some of your save files so that I can load them up and try to figure out how to help? If you've got a few different saves from around that time it might help pin down where something might have gone wrong.

The save files for Tyranny can be found at C:\Users\%username%\Saved Games\Tyranny. If you name your save in-game, that same text will be in the file name so it will be easy to find.

Thanks!
-Taylor

Hey Taylor. Same Problem:
I have a samegame here with my party standing in front of the closed door in the spire. No way to open it.

I kept playing and seem to have discovered a solution: you must go to Cacophony first if you sided with the Chorus; Nerat will send you Lethian's Crossing to extract the Forge-Master. This will eventually enable the chain of events that are supposed to enable you to enter the spire and open the door. Strange that you even have the option of going in there if you don't go to him first, and that you can activate it with a little guess-work involving the sigil. Seems like a vague oversight more than a bug. I'd suggest changing the scripts around a little.

This..

I just saw the same thing, you can go into the Oldwall section even without key stone if you go to Lethian's crossing early...

Thanks for the save files!

@Battican - I'm glad to hear you worked it out! Sorry for the frustration there.

@Amaror - I loaded your save and it looks like you're in a similar situation as Battican. A few more events have to unfold in the story before you'll be able to get past that door. For now, you might want to follow up on some of the other leads in your Journal to keep exploring more of the Tiers.

Feel free to let me know if you have any more trouble!

Yep, same event chain for me. Working for the Chorus unlocked the possibility to open the door. I just find it unlogical that you can go to Lethian's crossing first, talk to the mayor, and in fact unlock the spire, before doing all the events and quests related to the banes. Two out of the three charcoals papers are in the 2 oldwall rooms via Lethian's crossing, but for the third, you have to do all the chainquests to discover it. Although with only 2 papers, you can guess the seal to draw and unlock the spire.
That's why I was completly lost.

Yeah, I managed to unlock the Spire without the third drawing and just moved on at that point. Though it might be smart to patch some sort of explanation for why you can't do the mayors quest at that point. Like that he sent for a magician to take a judge what needs to be done about the bane and will wait till he arrives before he decides to do something. Something that tells the player: "Come back later." At the current point it feels like the mayor is saying: "If only there was SOMEONE who could do something about this grave monster we have in that spire over there" *nudge* *nudge* *wink* *wink* *Most obvious quest start ever* And the player is just sitting there without any option to agree to solve his problem and asking himself what's up with the game.

In it's current state it just feels a bit unpolished if there are weird questchains without explanations in the game. This applies to some other areas as well. One of the big ones is just having a log entry for one of several choices in the conquest mode. It feels a bit like the game is missing content.
And I do really like the game at this moment, it's way more fun than PoE. These are just some points of feedback to make it even better.

I also went to Lethians Crossing before getting the quest from the voices (didnt go there in coquest btw) and unlocked the spire. Now i got the quest and came back, only to find that all the important NPCs except the merchants are gone.

Thanks, I was running around that Spire for half an hour, trying to figure what I've missed.

I seem to be stuck as well at this point, I sided with disfavored. I am stuck at this oldwall area as well as the one by the ocean spire. Not sure what i should be doing at this point to progress.

I too allied with the Disfavoured and couldn't get past the locked section in the Sunset Spire Oldwalls (accessed through Lethians Crossing.

It seems a bit daft to allow access to the zone immediately after speaking to Tunon for the first time, then when you get there you talk to everyone and literally nothing happens. Despite the mayor hinting on that there is a problem to be solved down in the Oldwalls and that he holds the seal that will open the door.

Have I missed something?

Sorry for offtop, but there was a plea to fix weird quest chains. My top on weirdness was when I entered some another tavern door and saw DAMNED ARCHON OF SONG singing to some peasants, who seeing me says: "hey, you going to steal my fun! Nerat sent you? No, I know, it was Tunon. Ok, let's go."
And your character can't even ask "what."!

Yeah that one was strange too. No one even mentioned her to me prior to that, I encountered her in the camp in Act 1, she seems really important, and then after that you just stumble into her in a random building? Odd.

More or less the same problem here.
Steps:
1) Akt I: Sided with Disfavoured
2) Akt II: Spires are cool --> go to the "new" Spire first
3) Attack the merc´s at the Bridge
4) Arrives in Lethian´s Crossing --> Attack all the Enemys (SC[?])
5) Speak with everyone. Including the mayor --> Questlock Updated
6) Nobody else responded
7) Go in the Lethian Spire --> Solved the Puzzel with 2 clues --> Questlock Update
8) Proceed with the DF Questline --> when Graven asked where to go next I decided to go to the Burning Library ( Lethians was an Option, but never mantioned afterwards.)
Is it possible to go to both places and i massed up ? Or is only one or the other possible ?

--> So all the Quest in Lethian´s Crossing never triggerd.

Same here. Except I sided with the Chorus.
Another reminder NOT to buy ANY game on release. Things like these ruin the whole experience for me.
Maybe next time I'll be smart enough to wait and get a finished product for less money.
Just reminds me of PoE where you just lost all your items for no reason and stuff like that.
Sad, sad thing.
