There's nothing more annoying or border gorey than a neighbouring empire who your on good terms with leapfrogging one of your outposts and putting an enclave in your empire. It's annoying that other than declaring war on a neighbor who I have no issues with otherwise, there's no option to let us do anything about this!

I know that system trading in general doesn't work as the AI struggles with this but I think there should be an option for when the ai puts an outpost in your territory that isn't conquest.

They should just prevent outpost construction in 'isolated' systems, e.g. singular systems that only have hyperlane access to one empire's space.

I hate this because it encourages me to close borders with allies.

You have to build like 2-3 systems deep to make them stop.

I'd trade ANYTHING to amicably trade these systems. Why I can't sell an AI a border system with some desirability weight based on its resources is beyond me.

Even just a 'don't build past my borders' pact with allies.

What always gets me is wormholes, I'll forget and spend influence colonizing elsewhere and then 50 years later the AI on the other side of the galaxy will pop through and make border gore of my "internal" frontier space.

Its fine if the AI doesn't do as I'd like, but why make the map so ugly just for some empty systems? Not even a planet or anomaly. I think there's a point where the AI stacks up influence in the midgame and then when borders open/change they go crazy grabbing all the leftover space.

yeah you have to watch out for that and take care of all encircled leviathans as soon as possible otherwise the ai will slip through and do some nasty stuff leaving you no other option than to clean off their mess

and since they get to keep claims on formerly owned systems they won't stop declaring war on you any time you focus on fe/ae or the crisis until you completely wipe them from the map
