Hi

The pedestrian tool is just great, I love it :D
and the pedestrian option with parks is just awesome!

So, we can create parks and we can also make bigger the parks made by the creators of the game, with pedestrian path.

We can add trees etc...

But the problem I think is it can't be recognized in the game as one park.... mainly for the ones within the no-use of parks-made...

Can't we have another tool to define what we built as park?

Ex:

parks%20define_zpsnorym0lt.jpg

Maybe to add also one option//mark depending how big is the park. - I don't know how to explain. This would be set in the game... for the worth/value of what we built. And may interact with buildings value and so on...

Regards

Yeah if we could just have an option to turn a district into a park. It adds a weekly cost based on size and also gives a benefit to nearby buildings (possibly also based on size, but also possibly account for # of trees, paths, and whatnot as well)

in all reality, pedestrian walks should be recognized as Park. That is what they are for, exercise and Recreation the same use as any other park or should I say type of park. All that they would really need to do is just add on a routine that recognizes it as a park as well as a pedestrian pathway.

I dont think pédestrian path as a park since we can use them as sidewalk sort of. . but they and bridges we can make with this tool, should give a plus to the environnment & value around too.

okay, that was my thought because here in the US pedestrian pathways are treated as a part of the park systems. Actually they take defunct railroad tracks, and change them into pedestrian parkways. my reasoning behind treating them as Park is exactly what you mentioned Vikinga, they bring beauty and joy to the neighbourhood directly surrounding them just like a park would, so for the ease of programming for the people it Co maybe it would be easier for them just to add a park-like level of beautification joy to the populace near them? it might be better to give them their own troy quotient. On the other hand I'm thinking of how easy it would be for the programmers to make a small change and still get the same effect. Maybe of waiting having to make changes in a major way in the game subroutines.? what do you think? :)

and I will be the first to admit that my knowledge of the programming that goes behind a game like this, or any program is very lacking lol

It was just this point but we agree overall, sure. :)

They should bring value and stuff around....

pedestrian path + trees + size = park = different value with the size overall, number/type of trees...

Also,
Would be nice if we could get small items to place like swing & stuff but if they can't, lets say it will be ok... :)

I would also like there to be additional features which one can add ingame, like benches, lamposts, fountains, etc.
Indeed.

That's a great idea. We could imagine that this area would be unbuildable, except for park facilities: trees, pedestrian pathways, and all park items.

An interesting question is how to make it properly functionnal. We could maybe imagine that this district would generate an area of happiness around it that would be more or less strong depending on the number of park facilities hosted? What do you all think?

Since they are able to make districts to interact with various specializations, and policies...Thus, I think we could use that kind of tool we already have for districts, to define space. I guess it would need to be lighter to paint park zone.

We may also use some policies like to accept or forbid animals, smoking... for one park.

District and parks have to be two different things.

For example: We can accept animals inside the district, but can forbid animals in one particular park.
& If the policy to foirbid animals is in one district, so this option shouldn't be possible for parks in that district

I'd love to be able to create a nice lake/pond... add a band stand etc.... you know create an area like Central Park (not Perk ;) ) Perhaps have a park Zone?? This could be useful to boost happiness in cities.. and Crime if there's not enough policing in the area.

Also, theme parks! :)

Gambling, I'd like to add a casino or two in my city, to help attract more tourists

Despite it's possible, in some way, to have many props just 1x1 parks and be made ploppable anywhere, I support the idea to have a district specialized as "park" (i think CO could use the same system, given you can define a district inside another district and a district don't need to be all adjacent), with specific benefits and policies, such as having the pedestrian pathways acting more as roads (with service cars only allowed in case of emergency).
It would make parks, real parks.

This is a great idea and I have been thinking about this before. Every city would be unique with unique parks. You should also be able to zone small shops in a park district and it will grow to small hot dog, kebab, newspaper and other stands.
