Which picture our equipment use have no effects on gameplay but for minor countries especially it could add some flavor instead of having generic pictures for everything. We can rename our variants, being able to choose picture would be a great addition.

Like maybe you wan't your medium tank 1 to look like Pz III and your medium tank 2 look like Sherman.

This will likely be easy to mod as it was in HOI3. There was a gfx/models folder with all the images in it. Just put the images in that folder to match. In HOI3 it looked like this.

gfx/models/GER_armor_brigade_0.tga was the model(not on map model) for the first German medium tank picture. Take a different picture you like and rename it to that to replace. There were also generic models (armor_brigade_0) for minors, but you could give them pictures using this method. Just put the abbreviated country name in the beginning of the name. IE HUN_armor_brigade_0.

Are you asking for the ability to do this from inside the interface? Now that would be cool, but I'd rather the devs spend time on other things personally.

Yes I am. Yes you are correct that there is more important areas but if they get some time over they could spend that time on implementing what Im asking for. This can naturaly be after release.

So, for example, Romania is about to start research on medium tank II. When they select that research project, they get a choice between Pz.IV, Sherman, T-34, or whatever. And the game will use whatever artwork for that nation that the player chooses. That would be a cool idea and not too difficult to implement, I imagine.

I meant you can change the picture then you create variants like you can rename your Panzer III to "Riga".
Given that you can choose your divisions "icones" I think it would not be impossible.
