We can currently hire 2* bodyguards to protect the player character. Giving us the ability to assign these bodyguards to protect other people (Which by proxy makes ourselves more vulnerable) would be a great addition. Risk versus reward. I.E. protecting that valuable heir, but putting ourselves at a higher risk by sending away one or two of our bodyguards.
With an acceptance challenge regarding opinion, trust and dread. A child or advisor who doesn't trust them would naturally decline in fear of it being a ploy to murder them.
Another important factor would be how plots are regarded against the protected target by the bodyguard. The bodyguard should take into account their opinion of their liege (You, who assigned their mission) versus their opinion of the bodyguard target. They may love you, but hate your child. As well as their fear towards you and their traits, of course. Meaning selecting a bodyguard for your heir wouldn't be nearly as simple as for yourself (You can sway them to max relations fairly easily, but your target may not do this.)
What do you think? I think this would add more depth.
