We must push on with social reforms and progressive taxation, while calming the tensions between the party factions and limiting the authority available to the secretive and ruthless Blanque.

I sure wish we had second opinion voting, I'm very torn. I prefer the marxist economic and foreign program, but the brutally hard-line stance on internal political affairs makes it impossible for me to vote for them. The cooperationinsts seem a better choice, but it's a shame that they don't want to expand social reforms. I'm opposed to private press, and perplexed that none of it's supporters can come up with a good argument for why wealthy people should be allowed to spread private propaganda in the VSVR. However, this compromise with capitalism might be nessecary to placate the rabid argumentation of the anarchists. And then there's the socialists - decent policies all round, but would it be a waste to vote with them? What are their intentions regarding the anarchists?

Add to this, the confusion of the Worker's Vote, and it becomes extremely difficult to place a vote. If I could, I'd vote for the UC and then the Socialists as my second opinion, but since that's not possible, I'll be forced to consider for a while and listen to the continued debate within the party.

Why have I seen that some are voting against our party on basis that we do not wish war with Prussia, when the fact is that we do, if intervention is not risked with a Great Power as well?

The strong front of our party supports what the Anarchists faction want, a Free Press. A free press, started by the workers of our nation will create a forum of opinions to share with themselves. To concentrate all influence in the hands of the state is placing the power of information into the hands of a small amount of people. This means a concentration of power. The argument for private newspapers would be that. To not place the power of information into the hands of too few people. A diversity of opinion is needed in our land, not just the one voiced by the state itself.

A vote for the Marxist-Centralists Alliance will surely incite the Anarchist faction to creating a Civil War, a vote for the Anarchists will incite the Marxist-Centralists, while a vote for the Socialists will only prolong the civil war for a brief moment, as their policies do not even touch the important subject manner of the press.

A vote for the United Cooperationists is a vote for the ending of the brewing conflict in our lands. A vote for our party is a vote for peace

A final appeal to the statists, charlatans, warmongers, corrupt & the rest of the glorious Marx-Blanqui Empire​

Brothers & comrades of the Workers' Republic,

I write to you to assure you all that, though I am locked away in a prison, I am still a free man. I am free because I know the people of the VSVR desire peace and liberty. The walls surrounding me are made of inescapable brick and concrete, but outside of them are men who yearn to be free of oppression. Anarchists, Marxists and Socialists now all stand together, defiant in the face of Blanquist attacks on the people.

In the wake of the AKVD massacres of protestors, there has been much lively debate. There have been many accusations leveled against myself and the Young Anarchists, we are claimed to be:

WARMONGERS!​

We are pacifists. We want an end to organized war, though revolution is necessary, occasionally. We want the end to the state using war for its own interests.

COLLABORATORS!​

I do not even know how to address the accusations that we are colluding with the kings of Europe. This is absurd. We would not even dream of making such accusations against an evil such as Blanqui.

WEAKENING THE REPUBLIC!​

Garnering the image of a militaristic empire is weakening the Republic. All of our European neighbors now look to our socialist experiment as an enemy to all nations. How long will the slavemasters of France tolerate our expansion? And Austria? Russia? The British? The Anarchists are bent on destroying the Republic? Does a pacifist state strike fear into the kings of Europe like an emerging empire would?

We are weakening the Republic because we have requested a free press? We are weakening the Republic because we demand the end to needless wars? We are weakening the Republic because we no longer want to rule over the conquered? Are these the sort of actions that weaken republics?

INSTIGATING A CIVIL WAR!​

We are not instigating a civil war. We have no desire to wrestle this monster of a state from some other faction. If anything, we advocate a revolution – like we did almost 20 years ago. We all fought together on the same battlefields, we founded this republic together; did you not expect us to continue to seek the goals of that revolution? Did you think all of the Anarchists would accept Marxist tyranny in place of aristocratic or bourgeois tyranny?

We instigated a civil war – yet you joined with us to form this government and made war against our wishes! You handed over a private army to the Minister of Intelligence, Comrade Blanqui! You cannot ignore the will of nearly half of your electorate! We called for peace time and time again -- yet Marx & Blanqui continued making war against our neighbors.

Had our borders not been extended, the conflict of today would not have become this volatile. Our simple Rhineland Republic would be civilly debating the merits of a free press and other basic rights. This territorial expansion has led to a standing army rivaling the conservative empires surrounding us – and now, I fear, we are one of them. Blanqui has a personal army, the AKVD, and is using it against us and our neighbors. 'ANARCHIST PROTESTORS SHOT IN THE STREET BY A PROFESSIONAL MILITARY FORCE' should be the headlines coming out of Berlin or Paris, not the VSVR.

Alas, that is all we have been accused of. You may now find yourself asking, WHO ARE THE YOUNG ANARCHISTS? I cannot speak for anyone but myself, but I hope to represent the thoughts and desires of the Young Anarchists. What do the Young Anarchists desire?

We wish to:

• DISBAND a vast majority of our standing ARMY! ...calling upon militia when needed for defense.
• Pursue political reforms, most importantly a FREE PRESS!
• Give AUTONOMY TO THE OCCUPIED! ...Flanders, Wallonia and all who desire freedom.
• BRING BLANQUI TO JUSTICE FOR HIS CRIMES! ...against VSVR comrades & others.
• DISBAND THE AKVD! ...as it is the enemy of all we fought for.
• PARDON KARL MARX! ...for his transgressions as Chairman. The Young Anarchists do this not because of a love for Marx, but because we want to reach out to all Marxists, Socialists and Cooperationists and assure them that we want a peaceful end to this conflict.

We are PACIFISTS, we wish to see an end to the wars of worker versus worker. This revolution was meant to be spread by sending arms abroad and supporting our brothers all over the world -- not by emulating our feudal neighbors in their manner of warfare. I ask you all, why is there so much worry of war in our own home Republic, but so few speak ill of the wars outside our borders? Every soldier, farmer, worker, father, son and brother that we have killed, their last thoughts were not: "I am honored to be murdered by my brother-workers rather than tyrants! Thank you, Lord Blanqui!" Our quaint little society was situated in the Rheinland merely a decade ago; we now extend from the Atlantic to the Elbe. Brothers, what have we become?

Did we rise up in 1848 to serve warmongering dictators? Marx will step down, but surely there will be another just like him if we do not act. The Blanquists-Marxists are the most sinister option. The German Socialists seem inept and unelectable. The Cooperative Alliance ... what can I say about them, other than, what is a "moderate anarchist"? These are Marxists who tolerated the last 15 years of expansion who just now came to a real disagreement, and some anarchists who find this state tolerable.

I ask you all, my brothers, cast your vote for the Collective Anarchists, they are the only faction that have consistently called for peace, for freedom, for egality, for liberty -- they have been the only real opposite to the Marxist & Centralist wars. Many will attempt to persuade you to vote for the Cooperatanists, but I assure you, that faction has only found the middle ground between the PROBLEM of the Marxists-Centralists and the SOLUTION, the Collective Anarchists.

Do not take this request for votes to be a sign of fear or weakness. We are being prodded by the Blanquists and are preparing ourselves. Do you think we fear another revolution? We are Anarchists! I start a revolution before every morning's meal! To all my "moderate anarchist" brothers who waiver at this time, I offer you some words that are getting me through my imprisonment: Would you rather live a compromising slave, or die a free man? Come back from the brink, Cooperationists! Vote Collective Anarchist!

Finally, a warning: Should the Blanquists win this election, I call upon the ALL of the Anarchists to prepare a defense; they will soon attack you all & lynch me. Should the Collective Anarchists win this election, I call on all of the Republic to prepare; the radicals will attempt to usurp our democracy. Blanqui, with his own personal military force, will never allow a Collective Anarchist victory.

Thank you to Kadon for the above article. Everything aside from the words ''The Anarchist Zeal'' and the date was written by him and I think we can all agree it was a fine piece. His posts were of course my inspiration for forming the Young Anarchists so I think its only fair that the man himself get a word in.

I do not like the Anarchists are presented here.
Anarchy is the aim, and socialism is the way to achieve it.

Anarchy means freedom, tolerance and equality.
There shall be no oppression in the end, no wars nor organized discrimination.
Only total freedom.

To achieve that, to bring everyone freedom, there has to be a Klassenkampf, the old structures must be torn down, even if with force of arms.

A warmachine is required to destroy the other warmachines.
A war has to be fought, a war that shall end all the wars.

What is this collaboration you speak of? Our aim is to bring freedom from state, and in order to achieve that we must sometimes ally with the devil to kill an other devil. But in the end we will be the sole survivors that shall reign and reshape the world.

Res publica, our public matter. In the end, there will be none, but for now we must use it as a weapon to bring down tyrants.
It must grant us our freedom, or how else can we call it ours?
For now, military is a way to preserve our republic, which we need in our Endkampf.

And as to winds of civil war, sometimes you have to burn an contaminated tree to save the other trees of the orchard.
Kill the rats and stop the plague from spreading.

Socialism is a way, it seeks social equality and by being successful undoes itself.
Anarchism follows afterwards, for we all seek liberty.

I reluctantly place my vote for The German Socialists. It pains me to do so, as I have voted Marxist in all the previous election. However I simply cannot vote for any party that will lead our glourious republic down the path of strife and civil war. The Revoultion must be maintained, but we must also respect each other, otherwise all our comrades have fought and died for will have been in vain.
