LET THE EAGLE FLY
(Not the definitive title yet)
Alright so here is my first AAR! I hope you guys won’t be too harsh on me, seeing as I am just a poor boy with no sympathy for common writer’s knowledge. I tend to make the story interesting through random and unforeseen events; I hope you guys don’t mind. This prologue was a bit of a rundown into the whole AAR thing, I might switch my writing style into more of a serious thing in the next chapter. And I got some rules/aims/general things to throw at you:

- No ironman (Yeah sorry, I want to have this backed up might something go wrong or if I have a change of going immortal)
- Italics is my generic-self speaking
- Eradicate the Karlings! (This might seem weird but heck you have to do something)
- Conquer the kingdoms of Sicily and Italy
- Reform the Roman Empire (Might be a bit too ambitious)
- Role-playing

The Aquilae family is descendant from the great Roman general Gaius Marinus Aquilae, who lived from 157 to 86 BC. Besides being a great general he was also interested in politics, he made the office of consul at least seven times; leaving out a disputed eight time where the general was quickly disposed of when he at last became a lunatic at the end of his lifetime. Besides making the office of consul Marinus also made a stern base for his family in the south of Italy. A stern base that had passed from the family in Charlemagne times but would return back to them by well placed assassinations and marriages by the Viking times.

So now that that’s over with, let’s start the history of the Aquila dynasty starting with the dukes of Beneveto in the Viking Start of 867

Meet Duke Gaspare of Beneveto, the first of his name. As the Karlings were vying for the power of the Lombardy kingdom they made sure to assign the individual duchies and counties to men they trust. Therefore this young boy, a prominent man in the area at the time, was taken to the court of Charles the Bald to be educated in the ways of war. Becoming a brilliant strategist in the progress there were also some worse concerns that the boy picked up while staying at the court of Charles. Because of the harsh treatment of the Karlings the young boy grew into a cruel and lustful man, bedding and killing his way to the top of the food chain.

After quickly inviting in a good steward, Gaspare was ready to start his reign, his council by his side.

Like with many of the great rulers at the time, Gaspare too kept a form of a notebook at his side at all times, as was tradition in the Aquilae family, Gaspar was known by the many lists he made:

“Make soup (check)

Kill little brother (check)

Trust this John guy to not kill me (Needs some work)

Get a kid (unchecked)

Produce a claim on those wretched fools in Capua (unchecked)”

It should be noted that a smiley was drawn besides kill little brother and exclamation points were put behind get a kid, whatever ideas can be acquired from that let us not forget that Gaspare was a noble duke who sought to restore his family to former glory.

Soon enough Charles the Bald had accepted Gaspare’s offer to marry Hildegarde Karling, a young woman so touched by the art of the stewards that she would later be referred to as ‘Midas touched’.

After only a very short period of time the Gaspare’s chancellor came running into his office at the castle of Beneveto, screaming he had been able to fabricate a claim in favor of Duke Gaspare. (Wow that was quick, like really quick, what are the chances of that?)

"As the lord sat quietly in his castle. He looked up, orange candle light brushing his face as he stood up. He stood there briskly for a moment, his brawny looks becoming ever clearer. Still quietly he looked into the moon, shining bright into the small chamber. The five other man sat quietly at the table, most of them newly aquired and anxious to step into this nest of vipers, Southern-Italy tends to make itself. And then the Lord Aquilae cut all the beauty of it apart. 'Ready the men Radelchis.' Immediately all men started to move. Silently Gaspare walked over to the balcony. Like a beam of light in a thundering storm, Gaspare stood on the brink of war."

Wrong part of the forum, friend- this should be in the AAR forum. If a moderator doesn't just turn up and notice, ask one to have your thread moved.

Other than that, you're not off to a bad start.
