I have an idea for what I think would be a terrific achievement.

Before posting it, though, I thought of a few things.
1. What is cool to me might not be to others.
2. The design team probably has more to do than analyze each suggestion one at a time. They have plenty on their plate as it is.
3. Wouldn't it be good to solve both problems at once?

So my suggestion is fairly straightforward. Let "the masses" (customers like me) submit achievement ideas.
HBS pares the list every so often (twice per year? Once per quarter?) to 3 or 4.

Then season pass holders - the really hard core Mechwarriors - get to vote on which is the best to be added.

(Admittedly, the voting system might be a bit of a dev cost to restrict the voting to season pass holders, but there are probably off-the-shelf systems out there somewhere that could be used).

So not much design time is spent, the community is involved (at all levels - non season pass holders like me can still generate ideas, and SP holders have the final vote). Sounds like it would be fun!

Thoughts?

There's also the problem of the dev cost for analyzing all the voting. The dev cost of implementing trials of the achievements. The dev cost of implementing the final form of the achievements. And so on

Voting?

Eligibility to vote, based on a BATTLETECH purchase?

The precedent is already set with Valhalla’s Initiate of the Order and our having voted for Dev Q&A topics.

Based on this I quite like the idea of again incorporating a measure of HBS Customer Interaction and Popular Voting. Additional, maybe Seasonal Achievements... Expasnion Specific, or Themed Acheivements would be very, VERY fun in my opinion. I would like to see this added to the BATTLETECH experience. : )

A key factor being that like Valhalla, voting could be run here on the forum...

...just give all Season Pass Holder’s admission to the Valhalla Section of the forum. I would support such a decision.
