Congratulations to Klaipedietis, as his AAR "Trouble in the East - WiF Japan AAR" beat mine for the History-Book category by one vote in the AARland Choice AwAARds. And thank you to everyone who voted for me!

Also, you guys should check out frigidmagi's new AAR, 'Til There Are No Monsters, which is also in the Drakaverse, but as the USA. I can't wait until he fights the Pacific War in it; it's gonna be amazing.

Update: soon.

Opening Moves
"These traitorous swine must be punished. They have abandoned both their nation and their Party! Their support must be crushed, their armies must be destroyed, their leaders must be taken care of!"
--Heinrich Himmler, August 1957

The following is an excerpt from Brother Against Brother: The German Civil War:

. . . the Eastern territories, the Nazis dominated. Due to their primary role in anti-partisan operations, there were many times more SS than Wehrmacht corps in the East (see Fig. 1). There would be fierce fighting between the Nazis and the rebels; Free Germany only really had forces near allied nations: Baedal, Persia, and Free Germany's own Poland.

draka341.jpg

Fig. 1

In Central America, the Axis used the opportunity to attack the undefended French Mexico (see Fig. 2). Spain pushed north from Spanish Colombia, and Argentina landed several divisions south of what used to be Mexico City.

draka342.jpg

Fig. 2

In Europe, though, the war was going well for the Free Alliance (see Fig. 3). Free Germany managed to push back the Nazis from the south, taking as far north as Stuttgart, as well as the rest of the Sudetenland--a huge strategic victory, as it not only linked the Free South with Free Poland, but also ended in the destruction of the nuclear reactor--and the capture of 2/3 of Alsace-Lorraine. Venice was also seized from Italy and part of Hungary was occupied.

draka343.jpg

Fig. 3

In Britain, the Second English Civil War was going full swing (see Fig. 4). The Royalists managed to take Birmingham and Liverpool, connecting their two pockets. This also cut Celtic Wales off from Fascist England, leaving them unable to combine their forces. On the mainland, the French had taken most of Celtic Brittany; after the Celtic defeat in the Battle of Brest, Brittany would be formally annexed back into France.

draka344.jpg

Fig. 4

After a little under three weeks after the start, the war--in Europe, if no where else--was going well for the Free Alliance (see Fig. 5). Free Germany was pushing forward against the Nazis in all areas of Germany, and had encircled a large pocket in Western Germany. In Italy, Axis forces were pushed back into the peninsula by German and French forces. Serbia and Bulgaria both captured more territory from Italy. The only place where the Axis was winning was in Hungary: Hungarian forces had pushed the Free Germans back into Austria, and taken half of Croatia.

draka345.jpg

Fig. 5

Nazi Germany excelled in the East, in ways they did not in Europe: the SS took down the revolts in Byelorussia, Ingria, and the Transural Republic before they really even began, and fought strongly against the Baltic State, Russia, and Siberia. The only area where Free Germany really expanded their territory was in the Far East, around Östlicherhafen (formerly Vladivostok). This was due mainly to the support of Baedal, in their contribution of supplies. Baedal's army found itself in its own fight, against the Chinese. . .

Interesting! I think it would be absurdly interesting if the Nazis were forced out of Germany but managed to heavily entrench themselves in some other part of the world, like Mittelafrika in Kaiserreich. Or something like that.

Time to take back Turkistan and the Yellow River region!

Map of Hwanguk (the mythical nation before the original Baedal)

not at all realistic. looks like you popped it off some korean ultranationalist site. hence the ownership of lands that make no sense. stretching all the way to Persian and the Khmer Empire's aswell as controling all of east asia and the fact that it existed 3301 years? That wishful thinking.

well a quick trip to wikipedia tells me theres a small possibility that it may have existed. its obviously fairly well known even if it is dismissed largely as myth.

Just as realistic as the Great "Aryan" Race :p

Seriously? I've already given you like six times the area of Korea.

We'll see how they do in the war. Then we'll talk.

That's kind of what they're already doing in the "eastern territories," former USSR. They've taken a lot of land so far, and they could set up a pretty big base (they've already basically got all of Asia east and north of Persia, if they take out Baedal and capture some revolters).

Not quite done yet, but in a very bad way. The AI has to perform a miracle to save itself.

No wonder the axis are loosing, if they let the Italians defend their own nation.
Yeah, I don't know why that is. In Europe they just gave em all to the Italians.

Oh dear, where do I find an AAR as good as this to cover this night?
Oughtta try one of soonerborn´s other AAR´s I suppose. But sure can hardly wait til this one goes on.
Thanks for joining us, and thanks for the compliments!

And I'd like to think that my AARs have gotten better and better each time--my first one was just horrible, but I hope I've gotten better--so if you want to read one read my last (completed) one about Russia in my sig.

Alternatively, if you want some amazingness, I'm gonna throw a couple of my favorites at you:

  1. Kapitulieren? Niemals! by kami88. One of the classics.
  2. The III Reich in World War III by The Yogi; currently on hold, unfortunately.
  3. Awaking from the Nightmare Years by rich-love; a reversal of an almost-WC; really good stuff.
  4. God Save Us All..Rewriting History in Blood by Inkana; sheer amazingness: it's taken him two and a half years to get to actual gameplay, and he kept me interested the entire time.
