So I was playing the Gideon Ethiopian Jewish dynasty, expanded pretty far, eventually my dynasty became Turkish in race for around the last four generations and boom black baby heir. I can understand why this hasn't been addressed in the past as it's generally rare to have black courtiers but I think there should be an event where your character can disown a child if it's that clear your wife has been cheating due to the child being a race that neither your character or their wife is (it can be kinda infuriating when playing on ironman and you have an heir who clearly isn't yours). Thanks for a great game either way!

Back in the 1920s, a missionary was approached by an angry looking village elder. The missionary asked what was wrong and the village elder said "A white baby was just born. You are the only white man in the village so we know you have been sleeping with a married woman. The punishment is death by stoning for both of you."

The missionary tries to calm the elder. "Friend, friend, I know this looks bad but I can explain. There is something called albinism. Look at the flock of sheep. All your sheep used to be white but last year one black sheep was born."

The village elder turns to look at the flock of sheep. He stares at it, stony faced for many long seconds silently. Finally he turns back to the missionary with a scowl. "Okay, you keep my secret and I will keep your secret."

Sounds pretty racist to me mate
Not racist; it's just an obvious indicator of bastardry.

Also, we should have the option to bastardize recently-born children by our unfaithful ex-wives. It should cost prestige and piety, and require the approval of your liege/pope. But it would add a sense of realism to the game.

It sounds to me as if what is needed is a set of scripting tools that would allow us/PDX to distinguish between DNA. If we had that all we would need to do is create an on_birth event that checked the DNA of the child against both parents and if it was too different then it would trigger a "suspected bastard" event chain. It would be even more fun if there were extra modifiers for Lunatic or Paranoid traits etc.

"He's not mine - I have blue eyes and yours are hazel but his eyes are brown ! Who are you sleeping with ?!"
