I don't know if it's just me that is terribly unlucky when it comes to wars but whenever someone declares war on my liege, they always go for my capital instead (playing as Portucale in 867 and 1066) and end up killing/capturing a bunch of my councillors and courtiers in general because my liege refuses to do anything about it and I don't have the numbers to fight them off.
This gets extremely tiresome in the long run seeing as my council just becomes awful after a while due to the amount of candidates going down by a lot.
Why can't we recapture captured prisoners if we manage to defeat their army before it reaches one of the enemy's friendly holdings?
I'm pretty sick of having to ransom my wife/uncle/daughter from the Umayaad just because they sieged my holdings instead of going for my liege's who they were at war with, that is when they don't just straight up murder them.
I feel like it's way too easy to lose characters to hostile sieges even when the war isn't even your fault and I'd like to see this balanced, if possible.

Enemies trying to land all of their troops on your capital all the time even if it's really silly to do so is an issue that has been plaguing CK for as long as I can remember. It's pretty annoying when the decisive land battles of a Norse invasion of Britain often end up being fought in Scandinavia. They ought to make the AI smarter about what counties to target and in what order, as well as make the defending side in a war actually prioritise defending.
