I was thinking the other day. What if Lenins death was prolonged 20 years?
How would he have manged the Soviet Union and dealed with Hitler?

This mod shouldn't be too difficult to make actually - you'd just need to change the Soviet ministers files to keep all of the 'usual suspects' from the Revolutionary period alive, and add a few more options (probably more interventionist ones...) into the foreign policy events.

You may also need to alter the IC in the Soviet Union a bit - I think if Lenin were in charge for longer, you'd see a slightly moderated economic policy - eg. the NEP would probably have been kept for longer, and things like collectivization and the 5 year-plans probably wouldn't have been so extensive.

Oh yes, and you'd need to keep a watchful eye to stop the thread drifting into an OT-Land-esque discussion on the nature of Communism!

Ive started the mod, before Lenins death he was making steps to make the Soviet Union into a more centralized Socialist State. Stalin interupted this process. I think the IC should be somewhat lowered but not by much.

Considering Stalin used measures to industrialize that many less men would not, I'd say it's safe to assume that Russia would be far less industrialized.

Oh yes - I've got a few Bolshevik minister pictures you should be able to use in 'All the Russias' as well (Bukharin, Zinoviev, Kamanev - and SOVNARKOM if you want to use it!)

Possibly not - while the population most probably wouldn't have suffered the same decreases that it did in the Stalin period with a milder policy, the power of the state to make use of this population would be quite a bit less.

And without collectivization (and the virtual second civil war in the countryside in the late '20's and 30's!) the power of the Russian peasantry is still going to be extremely strong - and fairly difficult for the government to manage! So, you could actually have a Soviet Union being forced to focus more on agricultural interests and production, than big heavy industrial projects like in real life.

For Ministers Ive kept some of Stalins but put Trotsky in and Lenin as Head of State and Government

Trotsky soon leaves Russia for Poland
