The King of Navarre gave me a matrilineal marriage between his eldest son and one of my daughters. Unfortunately, his eldest son is a bastard and therefore ineligible to inherit the throne.

Is there anything I can do to get him legitimized before his father's death? It would be very, very helpful to have my daughter as queen in a matrilineal marriage, even if it doesn't actually get me any land. I tried making him a duke (in retrospect, a county probably would have been better...) in the hopes that it worked like CK1, but it's been a few years and he's still not legitimized.

I'm pretty sure only his father can legitimize him. If you have a bastard, the option to legitimize him is in the intrigue tab. I don't see any way to force the king to do it, though, except, perhaps, with an event.
Ah. I know in CK1 a bastard could declare himself legitimate if he was a ruler, I was hoping there was something similar here...

kill the rest of his family.... he'll end up forced to legit. him, though i never bothered to do it myself so i dont know if it will work
Can't believe I didn't think of that.
Thanks.
