I think this makes sense.
If you legitimize a bastard they should enter the line of succession as they do currently, but they should never take preference over legitimate heirs. If my eldest son is a legit bastard and I have a younger legitimate son through marriage, the younger son should take priority. There should be some kind of 'weight' thing for heirs, with legit bastards having a lower 'weight' than legitimate children.
