Legitimate bastards should inherit only after legitimate children

I think this makes sense.

If you legitimize a bastard they should enter the line of succession as they do currently, but they should never take preference over legitimate heirs. If my eldest son is a legit bastard and I have a younger legitimate son through marriage, the younger son should take priority. There should be some kind of 'weight' thing for heirs, with legit bastards having a lower 'weight' than legitimate children.

I think it makes sense very much.

But... It sounds abit boring and punishing to those breeding a perfect primo heir and wants to marry when that´s done.

Let's have your idéa and add an option to remove the weight-penalty to a cost (Harsher than the current cost of legitimizing a newborn bastard!)- definatly!! The weight should only be remove-able if the leg. bastard has younger(Older if Ultimogeniture) half-siblings in front inline, to ensure it´s a confrontation.

Honestly I don't think so, even if legitimized (I don't know if some realms allowed this, for a strong king with no "suitable" heirs) What I'd suggest is a strong claim, and a very good possibility of forming a faction, and a possible peasant uprising to boot, specially if they'd weight clai in such manners: Is he liked? Is he Landed, is he a true christian Knight, genius, attractive quick or strong while the heir is an imbecile and the other inbred. or just plain cruel while the bastard is kind and diligent. I think they shouldn't be put in the line for the throne, but dependent on such factors, be able to command a very strong civil war.
