Hey guys, I was playing as Spain and I wanted to expand into Portugal. I managed to conquer Portugal but France became leader of my war and accepted Portugal defeat as only admission of it. Screwed up my plan for terrotirty expansion.

Keep in mind that Spain starts as part of France Alliance

Best advise I can give you is only join coalitions when you want to fight the coalition target, otherwhise work on your own

Spain starts in the coalition though. Then again, you can always leave it as soon as the game unpauses.

if you refuse call to arms you'll automatically be thrown out so no need to spend a diplomat
