How exactly are special people recruited from your empire? Is it similar to EU where you have to pay money to get a random person?

Just curious. Apologies if this has been answered before, but I do not remember seeing this.

Have a nice day!

I'm pretty sure they are part of your 'family' like in crusader kings, and I believe governors and researchers are acquired the same way, so at least the character system is like that of crusader kings

Yup, I think that each country has retinue of historical characters. Unfortunately on some pics some countries are a bit short on them :( I hope we get really TONS of characters, so there are like 2 people for each post (research, province) and like 10 more for diplomatic activity and military command

Seems to me that having multiple options for every post would kind of make the game easier. You'd never be between a rock and a hard place having to choose between a loyal commander who can hardly command and a brilliant commander that might save your country, but might just destroy it afterwards.

Not if you give character traits more evenly. 5 should be avarage, yet from screenshots it seems that majority of armies are commanded by 9 and 8-M generals, and IIRC King even regrets that he has to put 'mere 7' in command (becouse he is loyal)..

I'd rather see many characters with many diffrent traits (positive and negative) and stats and have some more shuffling (as they get better or worse), then only a couple of characters and only having 2-3 most important provinces governed.

I would like to see the numbers of characters directly related to the number of provinces that you own. I hated in Eu3 where the minors would grab all the good advisors while you would be stuck with mediocre ones.
