Sounds completely unhistorical and absurd. But proceed, might be funny.
Cheers

that is a yes and no about the unhistorical thingy.you see the first option is always the right one (and the AI chooses that in 85%) in 10% it chooses the no.2 option which is the second most likely (could be the looser in a democratic election, end then it divides the last 5% between option 3-4 which in some cases are the unhistorical ones created solely for the player.

By that we actually achieve two things.the Political climate ín WW2 changes form the sometime absurd to basically the historical one...i.e meaning that so far I've not seen any of the Latin countries join the Axis (except Bolivia for 8 months chance)That is of course only if the Axis is doing particularly well and in two occasions I have actually seen Brazil go Allied....now that is a major bonus.

As for the occupied countries in Europe...well I have studied the Austria so far (as I'm still awaiting to get Czech back) and in all cases (if Austria stays independent..it joins the Axis (as it did) now that is not a good example because it always did before, but seeing the behaviour of ´the countries (AI) so far it seems to me that they stick more and more to the historical route.(if not annexed of course)

(and btw.it is very fun to play opposite)

My doubts are (with Poland as an example):
- the only way Poland could join the axis was not by elections or government changes but through frictions inside of the historical government. I don't mention the Polish nazis (we had some, like any country in Europe) since they were but a margin of a margin.
- there was absolutely no way Poland joined the Commies. Neither through elections nor through politics. Just take a look at the UK-USSR negotiations in 1939. They were basically halted by the Polish veto to pact with the Soviets which were regarded, at least until late 1938, the main enemy.
- Those completely fantasy choices are good for a mod which adds new event chains, but not for official patches. If you plan to make them a simple election-like events, then the 5% is much too high since IRL there was absolutely no possibility of such an outcome.

About Old Guard traits... What's the reason for the old guard trait of MG Sir Percy Hobart? For some reason I hadn't pictured the most innovative armour commander the british had as "old guard"...

well,I think the percentage might even be higher for the elections taking the historical outcome.Last tests suggests this.It is a bit premature to discuss Poland yet as I haven't reached letter P yet...:) and hence these were just vaque ideas´what might be done

Latin won't help you...:)

That 640 comes out as OG Pz Leader, and my leader files are from the leader pack. Also, it wasn't me who noticed, it was someone else in the CORE forum, so it's not unique to my files. Maybe it's accidental? Also, shouldn't he have Engineer trait? He was the commander of the british armoured engineering division, after all. "Hobart's funnies" was the nickname, wasn't it?

In the true days of the Revolution we did NOT use that stuff...:)

Vulture notice here please

Vichy made with 2 pics, csv ministers and elections.

I was kind of wondering if it wouldn't be the wisest if I did the leader assignment in the 39/41 INCS as this is progressing,Else I actually think that the MPs gets a little tense waiting.I have also noticed that 39/41 INCS aren't exactly as good as the 36 when it comes to the proper unitnames...:)

But before I start doing this up til the F countries.Do I have the latest 39/41 INCs?

I will of course apply the proper gov as well in 39 as in 41 so that mixup won't bother anyone again.

The G Countries

We will now move to the G countries which includes Guatemala,Greece and Germany and since we have another major here I would like some feednack to a smart idea(I think... I think I've got.

But first Guatemala well I don't expect much than coups here, there were no communistas at all here and those we have are somewhat late LWR nacionalistas so i'm not sure what to do here.(yet)

Greece the main point will be to ensure that the Cradle of Democracy which weren't exactly a democracy in those years doesn't go Axis.I will find a way

Germany:

There will be elections/reshuffles here. I have noted the following down 2-37,
11/39 /Bürgerbrau) 11/42 (Hitler takes army command as I remember) 7/44 the attempted putsch 4/45 Hitler dies 2/46 time for a change....:)

I intend to use 3 typed of govs until 46 I will name them NS-hardbox which in 46 will be NS-Light.PA-hardbox (FA) which will disappear in 46 and become LC
and finally PA-Light which too will disappear in 46 and become the only commie option.(east Germany)

There will be needed a fair amount of sleepministers here to ensure that the dead doesn't continue....:) (happy Vulture I see)

First the 1.st choice always.NS hardbox this is the Hitler govs and in those elections we can actually have Hess(as HOG)until he flies away.or earlier. We can get rid of Schacht who then will move to PA hardbox and we can do all kind of the right historical things..and finally in april 45 we will KILL Hitler...how nice.(perhaps we should have a txt here like FDR)He will ne succeeded by Dönitz and the testament politicians apart from Goebbels who dies,Göring and Himmler will be exterminated too.I know Bormann died too but I will keep him alive for a little time as HOG(after all for more than 30 years people believed he had escaped)in 46 it will turn NS Light (a little lower fascist alignment) and we will get rid of the last of the hardcore (as I think Dönitz might have done, this will see the return of Schacht as HOMI (Tecnical Specialist) and von Papen from PA Light..he will make an excellent Compassionate Gentleman....

2.nd choice PA Hardcore which will be dubbed FA,this will not be the reatauration of Monarchy,I was first thinking of Witzleben,Bock as HOS but I would like to save them to a little later, which leaves very few choices actually unlike we take Oskar von Hindenburg,Fritz Thyssen or Alfried Krupp but I would like to have them a little lower down.although Oskar wouldn't hurt anybody(it has been much on my mind making this possibility as I still notice there are players who are reluctant playing NS) Else we will have Schacht,Rommel etc here, probably Ringel too.and someone like Schwerin Krosigk etc...and perhaps Schellenberg. The trouble with this file is that after 7/44 it gets very thin...but I will probably load it up minor generals. It disappears as said in 46 where it will be BDR (LC) I can easily find 10 people for that.(but a little help perhaps...Frodon???

3rd.choice PA Light (PA) The restauration of Monarchy as von Papen promised Hindenburg,HOS Will be Wilhelm II till he dies, then it will be his oldest son if I can find him.von Papen will have a leading role here excellent Great Compromiser..I have literally tons of former minor politicians from late Weimar to put in here, trouble is that these dies frequently during the year span...Could perhaps put Monsignor Kaas in here as well.Else as before we can always topple up with minor generals.and as a special beauty this spot will open up for Blomberg,Fritsch....and those guys.As said this will end in 46 where Papen will join NS Light and this will be the sole commie option,it will be so late in the game that I doubt anyone will use that one btw.

So how about that one.The beauty of this is no matter what you choose Germany will be kept in the Right Hand Corner....

To another matter,We have too many German FMs in comparison with the other nations, currently we have Keitel,Kesselring,List, von Bock, von Brauschitsch, von Kluge, von Leeb, von Reichenau, von Rundstedt,
von Witzleber,Himmler...which should be called good going since they did not have any before 39....so I suggest we demote Keitel,Kesselring,List, von Kluge,
von Reichenau, and well okay von Brauschitsch to generals.Schörner will go one up to general as I have seen the AI doesn't use him. This will leave us with the following German FMs von Bock, von Leeb, von Rundstedt, von Witzleben and Himmler(whom I will demote to skill 1)Himmler I hear you cry...well he was Reichsführer der SS and that equals fully a FM.

Kriegsmarine:We have the following GAs Albrecht (excellent for PA Light) Boehm and Raeder.I suggest we demote Boehm one spot.

Luftwaffe:we have Göring,Kesselring,Milch,Sperrle..I suggest we demote Kesselring and Sperrle...this should make it more equal....feedback thanks

I did this for CORE. What I did was simulate the 36 "election" crisis. I listed the three main candidates, Metaxas, Themistocles Sophoulis, and Panagis Tsalderis. Metaxas becomes a LC government, Tsalderis a PA one, and Sophoulis a CE one. With some resultant alignment shifts. I did not expand upon any "what ifs" regarding an ahistorical choice in 36 though. Only if Sophoulis is "elected" should there be any further elections. The next change is in 1941, when Metaxas died of a heart attack, and Korizis takes over. This is followed by teh regency of Archbishop Damaskinos, just prior to the civil war. Those changes I did make though.
