I hope he will find one for us (otherwise he will no longer be able to make use of his ancestor after 1.06 is released... hee hee hee - evil blackmail )

Guess I will have to read up a little on Estonia...I have a wicked plan of a september election 39 for all 3 states,because that way the player will know the outcome of Ribbentrop-Molotov pact and choose after that,doubt they will survive anyway.

In the last (and only ) file you sent me, he was not. Because he has no pic, I assume. Where I can download the lastest leader patch?

I have found another guy whose grandpa has photos of all the republican governments from 1931 to 1936. However he has to scan them and due to examinations he has not time now (remembers me about something ).

If I can grab that collection, then we will have an overbooking of left, right and centrist rep ministers, and maybe I can create a purely CEDA option (useful for the Nat file also).

I have not sent you my lastest elucubrations since I suspect you'll be very busy. Waiting until the "S"

An human player could easily survive with all those three, all they have to do is say NO to the reclamations. I dunno the AI would DOW them. I have seen an AI Latvia survive in some games.

You can survive even as Poland in 39 (I have done it, and I'm not the only one who has )

1. I haven't noticed any leaders skills/traits being changed for these reasons. They might be eliminated from the game if they are too offensive though.

2. Britain has a leader Maj. General Wingate with Commando and Trickster traits with skill 3. Sounds like that could be him. (His picture file is named wingate_charles_eng.bmp).

What patch are you running? Are you using one of the picture packs?

OOPS forgot to answer that about the leader files,I expect Vulture is puttin them in the pic pack expansion..(main General discussion) I have however for rather obvious reasons not downloaded those...I expect if Vulture hasn't put the latest up that he is awaiting the finishing of the election thingy which means a LOT more pics.

Poor Estonia

Been collecting missing pics and reading a lot about one of the forgotten sides in WW2 (Estonia) .....that is a sad story.Had no trouble finding quite a few of the missing politicians both on estonian sites (like the history of the National Bank... and in the massive LON archives,I found a goody pic of commie quisling no 1.Vares...(he actually has a double name) surrounded ny 9 of his fellows in the early commie takeover and that was gold when it came to missing commie pics.... I had even more luck when I (at last) found out that some of the missing ones actually did not use their Estonian spelling of their name but the Swedish one instead like Nigol Androzen = Nigol Andresen and Wendt = Vendt (a bit confusing) even more when I found out that 3 of the missing ones actually were Rússian NKVD generals.Kumm,Murro,Resev,found Murro at once when I changed his first name from Andris to Andrei.Resev was obviously a misspell (even on some sites) his real name (verified) is Rusev

Boris Kumm....now that was a mean guy,as the name suggests Volga German in NKVD clothing.mjg actually had a lot of trouble with him until I discovered his russified namechange....... Executed by his own in 1952 (HORRAY) I take it that the Estonian member who made the original file has had a lot of black humour when he gave him Man of the People trait....

There is as often is the case the wrong starting Foreign Ministers this should be Julius Seljamaa.(until 4-36)

The Right wings are called FA's in the file...WRONG..they were more NS than most of the Germans(except one I guess) they singlehandledly carried out the orders for the execution of Jews and Roma's.Germany had little or nothing to do with that part.Maä and all his fellows in the minister file escaped unhurt to Sweden in 1944 who refused to prosecute or hand them back for the rest of their life.This is still a major issue in Estonia it seems.Maä easily outqualifies Quisling as no.1 Quisling.......Surprisingly he still has a few followers whose home site I found in DK (DK hosted due to our liberal approach to the web)...not nice reading.They were masked btw...cowards.

Hunting down this long forgotten side of inhumanity (on both sides) for once got to hardened historian like me when I read Pats Pälikis math book´in which she kept sort of diary about her 3 years in Gulag until she died 2 April 1945 either killed by her Soviet Masters or from famin(it never said) that is unimportant though.She was only 15.

I had to call it in there as it suddenly became too serious(happens at times)

Got some questions from Singapore from a fan there who seems to be unable to register at this forum due to his using of a Yahoo mail address.That puzzles me because I'm registred under a such......(DON'T EVEN THINK OF CHANGING THAT Vulture... but is that really the case that other yahoo/hotmail addresses are blacklisted?????????

Well, I've seen him named as Orde Charles Wingate and Charle Orde Wingate, but never Charles Orde-Wingate.

Personally I would have sticked to Orde Wingate for simplicitys sake...

Just a couple of things.1st(please consider it as pleadge) is it possible to remove this Mj General Papadopulos that exists in Greek army leaders files for the reasons i already explained in a previous post of mine?

I might be wrong but the Papadopulos in our file is NOT the Colonel from the 1967 coup.

It is supposed to be Lieutenant-General Demetrios Papadopulos (born 1889) who commanded the II Corps in 1941.

The general is mentioned in this article about the albanian campaign:

I have already removed Papadopoulos and found ,I think, two goody replacements(although both 512s...Well I think the the traits are working as designed....but that's not really our job,,,and the thrird thing...I believe that is hardcoded and properly more fitting as a suggestion for HOI2.

Will now move to Ethiopia have some pics there..and all we need in election ways are a little reshuffle in 42 as I recall introducing elections here would be as foolish as Afghanistan...: but I have to add some historical claims...

Yes it is supposed to be Demetrios but unfortunately the pic is Georgios,,it even says so.... must have been a little pressed when I stuck that in....I have actually first noticed it now....If I can't find Demetrios then he will go away.(I have found 2 other Greeks though)

The F Countries

Is of Course Finland and France and with France another major where I need a little feedback.

First Finland...this will not be the easiest of files to make.There was always a strong commie influence.and they were hardliners,I doubt however that the right wing option really qualifies as FA but perhaps we will need to keep them as that.Mannerheim is another enigma...a Paternal Autocratic Conservative with strong social responsibility....who said that Finnish politics was easy..oh well I'll sort it out....got a lot of useful info from Finnish users,although a bit contradicting.

But France..been looking at that file a lot,there need to be major revisions in that.

1)As I recall there were just as many gov changes before WW2 in the 4.th Republic as there were after.(a lot of these were reshuffles though)We will introduce those along with the use of dissent a plenty to reflect the political turmoil France was in in those years.

2) All the elections after the defeat goes between de Gaulle/Bidault..that's wrong I think it should be between de Gaulle /commies (who were very strong in France)both before under and after the war.
(I will need some more commie options here Frodon)

3) For obvious reasons there is no FA/PA possibility in playing plain France since these are the Vichy guys,but I would like to introduce a real PA possibility in ALL of France and not using the Vichy guys Petain/Laval and since Darlan is wasted in Vichy as he never became HOG/HOS or whatever I think we can use him for that elusive 4.th.option.aloing with a lot of the pensioned off generals and perhaps a person like Berliet..but suggestions for that one (not Vichy guys) would be welcome.who knows just for the fun of it we might even restore monarchy with Jean de Bourbon,Comte de Paris as HOS :rofl: (actually he would have set some sort of record if France had been a monarchy.as I recall he would have entered the throne as 17 and left it as 102 (as I recall...he seemed to live forever...

But how do you like that idea,since we now have the possibilty (although a costly one to play UK as FA...

If applied I would need candidates here too....

It is needless to say that I as always will stick to the straight historical solution as the 1st.option(as I have done so far) but this election thingy is a wonderful idea.....opens a lot of possibilities for each player

and FINALLY Vulture...as I understand it you want me to rewrite the French sleepleader thingy and the sleep thing in Vichy created as well--applying the proper no's here..am I right in that?

and a personal commentary.It would be out of the question that we could put a proper label on what Darlan was,when not even his contemporaries knew that..and historians ever since has argued what he was and where he would go.We will never know btw.Funny thing though is that in contrast to what most people believe de Gaulle and Darlan did not hate each other there was an enormous amount of jealousy between them,but no hate actually.It was simply a question of who should be the lead dog in France....

OOPs and forgot we will make de Gaulle HOS/HOG until the first election(was that 1946?)
