AGAIN PROUDLY PRESENTING

The LAST of the majors are now a full pic file afte I have added 96 pics to United Kingdom....Friends this is indeed a GREAT day...:)

I should perhaps say that the army section consists of 314 almost identical twins...:) gee....I jumped for joy whenever I found a general without that silly moustache.

Curiosity:It seems that if a British General enters into politics, there are no pics of him in uniform left....wonder why.

But sent to Vulture.

I think then that you have the wrong pic for Jellicoe then. The one in the file is of the uncle, the same one that gets used in nearly every book on Jutland/Skaggerak. I have some Irish pictures scanned in, but not everyone is ID'd as yet. Easiest was Hugo McNeill, and a few others. Let me know if you want them, and I'll zip and send ASAP. Also have a fwe ministers as well. I'm sure TP Coogan won't mind me raping his books for stuff yet again.

3 ot 4 in one

Now is the time to follow up on all this....who would have guessed we would come so far...:) and it is time to activate Frodon(if he is still alive....:) I will now start the full finishing of all the files....although I will make Manchukuo ASAP.(the problem is still Croatia/Yugoslavia)

1)I will now go through each country from A to Z and apply code 512 to air/navy (done in some files so far)

2) I will add the last pics to these files including politicians.

3)I will now add the election possibilities to change the political climate of each nation, and I will reduce the no.of political views accepted by each gov(historical)NOTICE It will not be all nations in which the election possibility will be introduced. But I have now tested the options so throughly in Romania that a "vanilla" player can use these to take either the historical or the own point view to follow.

It will mean due to the restrictions of game that some govs will have to start as at least LC(with PA ministers) to get the election possibilty...a shame but we will have to live with that.

We will start with the letter A...:)

Afghanistan;I have deleted the commie option here as such a party did not exist before 1965 (no elections will be held) PA suits fine.

Albania:I will change the start gov to LC/PA and introduce one election in 1936 this will simply choose between PA or ST...might give Albania better chanches.(this country has not seen democracy ever....:)

Argentina:Well here we have trouble..since a lot of the S-Am countries had a special political way generally referred to as nacionalistas. This was socialism with heavy national view on top of it (basically this is Nationalsocialism..NOT nazi) but the original form.Representatives of this is Peron,Ibarra,Pinilla, and Batista for example. and quite a lot others (Vargas in Brazil for example while in contrast Somoza etc was full blooded right wing dictators....:)Now my suggestion for Argentine is that the 36 election is pure democratic with Justo being the LC,when he was thrown out of office we will hold one versus LC/PA and PA/FA if the first one is choosen we can have one full democratic between LC and RS(with LWR support-Péron is coming..... and at last end up with dem vs. LWR(with PA ministers for example...:) peronism.

Australia:there will be no changes in AUS except narrowing the ministers available to each election way.LC or RS

Austria:Now this is a goody, but we will have to cheat a little here.we will have to start with Schussnigg as LC and a election in 36 vs. Schussnigg(LC) and Schussnigg PA (the historical way) there should be an election too in 38 between Schussnigg(LC) and Seyss Inquart (NS) if the dem way is choosen then there should not be another election before 45 where we will push the option between RS(Renner- and Stalinism on the other side forward.

Now if you can agree in these ideas I will finish off the countries starting with A.....:)

Here's a great big mod.

Been discussing the problem of stacks of 12 tactical bombers evaporating small corps on their own, and we suddenly realized that for at least the first years of the war, these stacks were actually impossible, not just a-historical. There just wasn't anyone with the skills and knowledge to coordinate the activity of such an air-armada.

Eventually the thousand bomber raids became possible, but only through many lessons learned, and much doctrine gained. Ande even then, the armada formed in one area, flew to one place, dropped their bombs and went home.

So here's the mod: reduce all air leaders across the board to major or lieutenant general, and their skill to 0, or at most 1. Better leaders would be differentiated by their special skills.

Naturally this is not historically consistent with their theoretical ranks and titles, but it is consistent with what they could actually do. After all, Der Eisener may have had a Field Marshall's baton, but he fumbled the Battle of Britain, and that was fairly straightforward.

Certainly there were plenty of brilliant pilots in command in the early war, but being a pilot is almost completely unrelated to being an air general. Kesselring only learned to fly when he was 48, and never flew in combat, and the greatest air general of the war(imho) Hugh Dowding was forbidden to fly by his daddy, so he never did.

Eventually air leaders would aquire the skill to be promoted to higher levels, but later on, larger formations became possible anyway.

You can't dump all air leaders to the lowest rank, since the computer never promotes his leaders.

i'm afraid it is one of the things we will have to live with in this game, but you are right btw.But because of the AI we can't change it.....and hmmm.....it was a Reichsmarschall's baton he had....:)

I suggest giving von dem Bach skill 5 for obvious reasons and also a logistics trait (barely any other units in the whole german army were as good equipped as his -- especially in dollars, gold, radios and other stuff).

Friedrich Wilhelm Krueger (or here) - mj. gen., skill 3, logistics and offensive. Among his many deeds were executions in Belzen (took part personally), but later he commanded a division in Finland and - above all - was never even accused of a single war crime.
More to follow

I have just downloaded the Picture pack - truly wondrous work :)

However I have a complaint to make - the Bulgarian file seems not to have changed since July. What happened to the new pictures I have provided?

Edit: Gee...this thread is enourmous now. Anyway Birch I'm talking about the guys on page 31:

And this guy:

There were probably more  I don't recall :eek:o

American politics and leaders files

Hi To all
At the moment i still have the 1.04 patch for two reasons, the 1.05c is is in zip file and i think you need a software program which i think i dont have to download it, ( correct me if im wrong about needing some software program to download the zip files ) so im simply going to wait till 1.06 comes out,but i see there is a new zip file for the leaders picture pack and proporganda pack so my question is when i do download patch 1.06 will it run fine with out this new leader picture pack zip file can anyone tell me thanks.

The second thing i would like to ask about is the American leadership or government in the game i usually play Europe in the game, but out of curiosity just before i got on line to the forum i decided to check the US Government leader board to my surprise i noticed that the Head of Government and the Head of State are one in the same, now being a Australian our head of state is the current Queen of England ( and for the record im a republican and long for the day we become a republic no offense to the Monarchist ) anyway i have a general perception of the American system so should not the Speaker of the House be the Head of State and the US President the Head of Government in game terms from my understanding the speaker is very powerful in the US Government correct me if im wrong,i dont know if this has been brought up as the search system is still down so i could not check, could this not work for the game having the Speaker as Head of State, it would make things very interesting having a Republican Speaker and a Democrat President running the Government just as you could have Liberal Conservative Head of State and a Centrist Head of Government running Great Briton.
Regards TM1

You don't need a program to download it. However you do need a program called winzip to open the file. You can download it from free here:

Shouldn't be a problem to download 1.06 without the picture pack. However you won't get all the fantastic pics and leaders included in the picture pack...

Can't see why this should make things more interesting. IIRC the Head of Government doesn't have a function i HoI

Too bad ;)

I've opened the thread in the spanish forum. I hope everyone will be concentrated in Victoria and nobody shall notice. Otherwise, I'll have to give a lot of answers
