another Frodon task

Can you find the Thai Airforce site(preferrably the one with it's history and PICS..I have tried but haven't really found anything except their navy site...excellent site lots of pics----and since Aetius tells me that Siam had 250+ Field marshalls in 1936 I doubt I will have any difficulty in finding the remaining few...

Don't think he became a general that early. He was a captain when he founded the Arab Legion and is most of the time refered to as Colonel or Lt Colonel Peake. Perhaps he received the generals title by the jordanians?

By 1942, Harry Philby was persona non grata in the UK foreign office. He was a critic of the UK policy in India in the twenties, and supported american oil interests instead of british in Saudi Arabia. In 1939 he tried to found his own political anti-war party, and quarreled bitterly with the new PM Churchill untill he was arrested and held in 4 months detention as a threat to the security of the realm, before returning to Saudi Arabia...

Interesting character. Guess I'll have to check out that biography some day...

OK, found the working english page. The three pictures on the link above are probably the founding fathers of the thai air force:

Guess the problem is that I don't have thai fonts on my pc. Can anyone tell me the name of the guys on the pages below, and also translate the dates to western years:

BTW, about Wolfgang Schenk, are you sure he's an Air Force guy? Becuase it seems in this book he supervised everything in general.

There was a German Colonel in Afghanistan, he was the highest ranking, shall I dig up more info?

EDIT: Why would you need a Thai font? It seems to be written into the image.

I can easily find people here to read Arabic/Farsi/Turkish, Thai isn't a very easy language to come by, especially since I dont think there have been any major Thai immigrations.

Yes probably or some other arab country...Glubb was made general by the Jordanians.I don't think he ever achieved that rank in the British Army

GREAT work Frodon..as for the three beginners in the start I have deducted that the oldest is the FM and since they always mention them in the same order no 2(the middle one) is the the no 2 mentioned. etc-----this is called Danish Ingenuity.... The massive list of Air commanders can be puzzled out too,because elsewhere on the site there is a list in writing of the commanders.So it will simply be subtracting 543 (thanks Lunar) and then refer it to the name...will take a little time But I think I can work that out.Which means that we in one swift move have covered Thai with air too.... I'm puzzled why I couldn't find that one...

i'm a little surprised they started so early...and hehehe I noticed the article about the brave fight against the Japanese...not a word mentioning that they were allied most of the time...

Ach a name like Ali Muhammed Khan is almost impossible to point out.do you know how many hits that would give????....about a zillion I think.... not to mention that he could be listed as Mohammed or Moammar etc.

I asked that myself a while ago, and there aren't any countries left. Slovakia was the last one needed.

About Oman, did you mean Yemen? Because Oman is still in section IV and Yemen has moved up.

Vedy nice vedy nice There was a list,but there is posters for all countries now...BUT some of these are homemade and should be replaced with proper ones...so please keep on searching..as I wrote in my mail to you

Maybe you could have a list of which ones are terrible, which ones are simply ok, and which ones are perfect as they are.

Is this from this thread?...????..no apparently not.It should actually not happen since Richthofen/Sperrle are slept in the 39/41 scenarios,BUT it might still happen in the 36 scenario because I haven't finished the Spanish files yet,,still awaiting some Nat addings from Ivan...and then when we(I) have made the final files...then Vulture will make the sleep event so that all brigadists and all mercenaries and the DEAD (especially) are slept in both files...no matter who wins btw.That should cure that thing the user have experienced there...but I fail to see why he as Germany is in war with Nat.Spain???????.

No Phleps won't fight Phleps unless Germany goes to war with Romania before Anschluss....highly unlikely.(same goes for Feketehalmy and the other Hungarian)

We will have to live with that because the wake leader possibility is disabled in HOI.

Nope we never put Vlassov in the German file,too much work for one which is relatively unimportant compared to Phleps.Besides that the German file was(is BIG enough...
