well as I recall (It is some time I since been to Romania...
He was listed as a commander of the airforce for a short period.(I read that on the Romanian Airforce site)(I think)that's why...now he will become a Romanian Kesselring or Boydev...It was the same in Romania as in Bulgaria(and a lot of other countries that the airforce was under army command (a few under navy command)From memory I think I can say that the only countries in Europe where this was not the case was:
Germany,Austria,(to some extent Poland)Soviet,England and Italy
outside Europe I think you can saythat it was only the US who sort of had an independent airforce and that's not even true either.In Japan the airforce was divided between navy and army´,

meanwhile I have updated and closed Nicaragua with 16 pics (mostly politicians)but thanks to books I manage to find two (actually 3) vital generals in that file too.

they nearly collided with a massive Japanese input from Aetius....so both Japan and Romania are on the move now.... Meanwhile I finished of Paraguay with 28 new pics...I really love those group pics...This was from Estigarribias funeral,not only 12 named generals(had some already) but also the entire 1940 cabinet....Goody....

Long time no see. Does anyone still remember me
In any case, I'm back from sunny Rhodes and I'm glad to say that Birch's weather forecast was way off target
Will probably have to start a new EU2 game as the Knights. Got a bit inspired by the very impressive fortifications on the island. But apart from visiting old castles, chasing blonde swedish girls and generally behaving like a proper viking should do, I also managed to do a bit of reading. Grabbed a book about Kim Philby just before I left and didn't expect to find any useful HoI info there. However it did include a lot of info of british commies in the 30's and 40's so if the UK red shadow governments needs some more names, just let me know.
The real gem however was Kim Philby's father. The last thing we discussed before I left were possible british "assistants" to fill the army and governments of the arab states.
Philby's father, Harry St John Philby, was a contemporary and rival arabist of Lawrence of Arabia. Unlike Lawrence, old man Philby backed the winner, Ibn Saud. Philby became a muslim and was one of Saud's senior advisors between 1930 and 1960. Could probably be used as a minister replacement for most positions in the Saudi Arabian governments. There is a good picture of him here...

They almost collided witht he Japanese which Aetius still are bombarding me with.....we are really on the move now.And I have made another stunning breakthrough in one of the countries I always thought..oh well..let's take what we can (Peru)because the military sites are closed due to the state of war,as well as it is not permitted to show pics of military persons (even the dead ones...
They can however be found one various other sites,but it is a sort of a puzzle.Then I as always got refused from the naval,air,army sites....and then I began looking for the Defence Ministry (there was a LOT of ministers and generals etc but in drawings (excellent ones most of them)now a drawing is not a pic..right? so I said to myself why not try the links to the 3 other sites from this one...and in I was...LOL.Tons of pics and ministers (yes drawings or paintings again)but somehow some pics weren't deleted so I grabbed all I could egt hold on,which resulted in stuffing the last Peru file with ministers and generals etc. (actually most of them are as always in Latin America colonels) so Peru closed with 59 new picx...I'm happy...

I keep wondering if the USA should have a naval aviation minister selectable (currently they don't, at least not prior to '44).... or one of those 'battle fleet proponent' or 'administrative genius' armaments ministers (currently have neither; Henry J. Kaiser might be usable for an AG armaments minister)
