In case Poland has taken Venezulea and whatver...:)but the second option (which actually can be taken in the first available election) is the switch to NS/FA and back again in 45 of course, and I use the German gauleiter as HOS usually

Hmmm, don't think it's a good idea to include german gauleiters/reichkommisars in the fascist shadow governments. It looks a bit strange with a german gauleiter if Poland (or Norway, Netherlands etc) should turn fascist without being occupied by Germany...

Good news, Birch. I've got internet here in Moscow and I have to use it to call at home, so if you reach "Spain" I may be able to help a bit if requested.

Ahhh,......Frodon back....could you please come up with some suggestions for PA light ministers after 45?

and the gauleiters is not in the shadow govs,it is in the election thing,It is a bit difficult to explain, but basically I put the exile gov as 1st.choice for the player, since an occupied country is always annexed by the AI and then the occupation(Quisling gov as second choice..again actually only for the player, because several tests has showed that (and it has been with spheres of influence) that it doesn't matter a damn for the outcome what gov type the AI choose.....this is purely for the player to have the option available in each country he would like to play...and

2) by making it all historically correct with coups and countercoups and changes in election it is immensely satisfying for the player that the AI chooses the right option all the time (although it still allows for some ahistorical things)

3) BVut you should all think of this as a way to make it more historical correct and at the same time give the player all the options he can want for his playing nation.

I'm not sure what you guys are expecting but the window for any afterthoughts and fixes for 1.06 is closing real soon now. And the picture pack isn't official: Johan has said that, if it includes more than pictures for existing minister/leaders, it is a mod.

PA lights for Norway? Or other countries as well??

Not easy to find Norwegian light PA's in 1945, but the best people to use are the leading members of "Fedrelandslaget " - a patriotic and anti-communist league originally founded by Fridtjof Nansen and Christian Michelsen among others.

Fedrelandslaget was declared illegal by the germans in 1940 after the pro-german chairman, Victor Mogens, became more and more critical of Quisling.

Candidates for a light PA governement:

Head of Government: Victor Mogens

Foreign Minister: Johan Bernard Hjort Interesting character. One of the founders of Nasjonal Samling, and later involved in resistance work. He became a leading lawyer in post-war Norway and could perhaps be used as security minister as well.

Armaments Minister: Joakim Lehmkul. Mussolini-inspired industrialist who was chairman of Fedrelandslaget before Mogens.

Intelligence: In lack of a better man, we could use Anders Lange. Resistance fighter with a background from Fedrelandslaget. There are some pictures of him here:

http://www.dagbladet.no/magasinet/2003/04/08/365941.html

Unfortunately they are from the early 70's when he founded "Fremskrittspartiet". Will see if I can find some pics of him from the 40's...

Army: Will have to wait with this untill after easter when the liberaries open. The man to use is General Fleischers second-in-command in Scotland. Can't remember his name, but he was from an upperclass family and was a former member of Nasjonal Samling.

Need to do some more research of Fedrelandslaget before I can come up with some more candidates as well. Guess we can use Tryggve Gran as chief of the air force...

Perhaps we can get in this guy as well:

Is it possible to iinclude in an official patch a way to sort the leader files in a way that the traits are easily identifiable in the game? I think someone made a mod back about 1.02 that did this, but it was never picked up in offical patches.

Thanks

The Tricksters

Hey Birch! I know why guys like Rommel, Manstein and Slim get the Trickster skill; I was wondering what criteria a general has to have to get it? Or do you add it to certain nations leader files just to beef them up a bit? I've seen Nepal, Bhutan and Sweden with Tricksters, not to mention some powerful French generals like Lattre de Tassigny and Giraud. I mean, did Bhutan actually have a general that was a deception/ambush expert in WW2? The amount of info you, Vulture and the boys have gathered together about these leaders just blows my mind. I don't know how you guys find all this info but keep up the good work! :)

Please, explain it a bit more.

It is a bit complicated to explain, but I will try again,In all countries except the occupied ones the historical choice is listed first so that the AI will choose this(usually) I would like some sort of guarantee that the AI always chooses option 1 (but that is more like Vulture's department)

I will try and give you an example or rather two.

Lets take a democratic country which never are annexed (rarely) like Holland

The option 1 here are always the historical, but if you want to play Holland like a NS nation that option is also included from the start..and since you are the human player you will of course follow the NS route all the way (although it changes to PA after 45) If you want to follow the historical route as a Dutch player you just follow the historical path with one exception in 1940 where you will have to choose option 1 (exile gov)

You see the AI don't really care a damn what it elects(the outcome for the AI will always be the same) so these elections are only for the human player to make certain that he can choose either the historical route or the alternative one.

And since I assume that a player who plays a democratic occupied country usually will take that route all the time then I have choosen to put the quislings in as option 2.(it does not mean a thing in play because the countries are always annexed when occupied....in fact I have never seen the opposite.

And as we know the puppet govs(in Poland or wherever) always was headed by a gauleiter I have put that person in as HOS.

Great....:) ahh this is the beauty of it. HOS is always NS(gauleiter) and HOG always local breed fascists (Quisling)..a bit like the original file was intended.

The exception here are of course DK since we did not have the fortune..:) to have a gauleiter and even had free elections during the war.but I have sort of overcome that in a way.

I think it is the easiest just to hoover the mouse over the names and then the trait will come as you know. The other thing looks a bit sloppy
