Do automatic promotions work? I see that Rundstedt is the only FM that's been auto-promoted. I had to promote two of the old guys just so I could attack with full force when needed. I have 3 more old guard generals. (all thats left)
I'm in the midst of the invasion of France and I now have the following generals:
3 level 7
15 level 6
13 level 5
Of these, 1 is FM 11 are Lt. Gens, the rest Majors.
If I give my last 3 Generals to the Huns, will SOMEONE get promoted? I just need some Generals.
It sure seems like MJ and LT generals gain XP much faster than FMs do. In the time some of the guys have gone up 2 or 3 levels, Rundstedt has all of 75 Experience (I guess he gets 1 XP per day of battle)
I've even had one of those old guard Generals go up a level just before I promoted him myself. I expect he'll be sent to Hungary before he gets another level.
