Anyone know if there are any mods that increase leader capacity? Or how easy it is to mod ourselves? I searched on steam but nothing popped up. This is one of the few things in the game that I never could quite understand. Why a galactic empire should be limited to 10 leaders seems crazy. It already has a soft cap by requiring influence to hire, why the hard cap as well and why so low. I have planets without governors and fleets without admirals. That's not realistic. Is this mechanic because more leaders would be too hard on system requirements and slow the game more or is there a game balance reason for it. I would like to see the number increase to 25 at the start of the game if possible.

There are several events in the game that add leaders and those are great from an immersion or story perspective, unfortunately, more often than not, you just automatically refuse them because you are "full". Having the exile might be fun but I already have 6 scientist, I don't have room for any more. Yes that officer pulled off a great maneuver at the Battle of Tanaab and got promoted to admiral for it but unfortunately we need the space for a governor so we have to let them go.

On a related note. I've noticed in my latest game that the elections (for democracy) do start out early in the game with leaders who are not currently in your employ, which is great, but by the late game, that no longer happens, every person in every election are existing leaders by then. Is this because early on, you haven't hired enough leaders so it grabs some extra ones to fill out "the ballot"? I would like to see "new" candidates every election or at least some younger ones show up alongside the five 110 year old candidates who are running.

I do realize that changes are coming in Banks with faction leaders and I am excited to see how that plays out in regards to elections, sounds like it could be a great addition.
