So anyway, i'm playing as the Soviet Union I spent hundreds of rubles trying to get enough spies into Mexico to coup it. It works, Mexico is Stalinist with +200 relations with the Russkies.

But the cabinet doesn't change at all. Lázaro Cárdenas and his Social Democrat cronies are still in power, which I find a bit odd as Mexico has Leninist Ministers and I'd assumed that these would automatically take over.

Just to test it, I couped Mexico as Germany in a seperate game using acceptall and the same thing happened: With a National Socialist government the social democrat, Lázaro Cárdenas is still in power.

Any suggestions?

If you have Doomsday, then assassinate him.
If not, write a short event to install ministers of the appropriate government type according to the slider settings.

Interesting though, if there are appropriate ministers... why don't they get installed like they should on their own?

This should prove to the masses that mexico is in fact not corrupt, but is the most uncorruptable government in the world.

Maybe we'll see a change for this in 1.2.

I just tried this in HoI2 1.3 instead of doomsday, "acceptall: coup" and I got leninst ministers......

I'd say the opposite. If the rulers on the eve of the coup just say "Ok, if we say we're stalinist - can we continue to rule the country as your puppet régime?" and then duly continue ruling the country but now with stalisist policies, then that must truly be the height of corruption.

:D

Neither one nor the other .
I think that it actually shows a remarkable adaptability .
I bet that the guy didn't even take one rouble , he's happy to serve for free .
He's even ready for the next revolution because then he'll say "See ? I wasn't even in the party . It was all the evil ministers . Let's hang them bastards ." :D
