Hi guys, tried searching and couldn't find an answer, so was wondering if any of you could help me. My D: drive is substantially larger than my C: Drive, and thus I want my game to install there, not the C: Drive, yet (even with a userdir.txt file) and yet every time I load up EU4 with this new update, it makes a new paradox interactive folder in my C: Drive, instead of adding to my D: Drive. Any insights would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance :).

For some reason the new launcher is making an infinite download for EU4 Workshop content on steam that's stopping me from downloading anything now on Steam, so I Unsubscribed from all the mods but kept the mod folder and now the laucnher is saying there's a problem with the mods

Is there a way to revert back to the old menu? I found it much easier to manage mods and see if they are compatible with the current version. But with this menu I can't really tell what version each mod is for, it's either compatible or incompatible.

HoI4, yes. CK2 no I'm afraid. More info on HoI4 later on.
Oh no, please...
I know it's a matter of personal taste, but the new launcher (you started with Imperator with this new style) , in my opinion is just ... ugly and not practical.

This. So much this.

But more importantly, a launcher that actually works and doesn't automatically crash on startup would be nice to have!

Seriously, is it really that much to ask that things are properly tested BEFORE they are released to the public? Because I'm getting sick and tired of this being the norm now. I am a paying customer, not a freelance beta tester for Paradox. Games and updates should go through beta testing BEFORE they get to me!

This new Launcher was fine with Imperator but with EU4, it really messed things up, especially in Mod department.
I have 80 mods I am subscribed to and in the old launcher, despite its bugs, I could actually see which ones were up to date with the game's version.

The new launcher has no such option so do I have to check 80 mods one by one to see if they work and not gonna crash my game? That alone makes me not wanna play it anymore.

The way EU4 is going, by 1.30, the QA team will remove their custom forum titles in shame.

Hi can you please help me with the following problem that occurred after 1.29 update - my in-game resolution is always set up at 1920x1080, which makes everything too small to be able to play the game. If I change the resolution I am told that it can apply only after restarting the game and upon restart res is again set up at 1920x1080. If I change the resolution of my laptop in settings to lower res (i.e. 1680x1050) the in-game resolution will change to the new, lower res, however the size of the objects is not larger, instead the game is just windowed into a smaller window. I tried changing the window setting in video options, but it does not change anything.

Please help, as I cannot play the game anymore. :(

Try going to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\pdx_settings.txt and change the resolution there. Also try changing it in settings.txt in the same directory (it's line 5 and 6).

All my saved games are not compatible now. I play on Steam, I clicked Play, new Launcher automatically installed without asking me and all saved games are not compatible. How I can get back to the old version?

Steam automaticaly downloaded the new patch.

Now my UI is tiny. I can barely read anything, and I lost all my saved games. I have spent the last 2 hours on this site and others reading on how to correct either of these issues with no resolve.

My saved files are still located on my computer however EU4 will not recongize them on either the new update or the beta version. I have many hours invested into the games and all of that is lost now. I have unistalled and reinstalled, still nothing.

Also, if I wanted to start a new game, now I cannot because my UI is so small that I cannot play the game.

The game was functioning just fine and now I can't even play the game due to some update that I didn't even want. This is a beyond frustrating...

Can anyone please help me?

In your Steam Library right-click on this game and choose Properties, Betas. Choose 1.28.3 from the droplist there.

Did you check off "show incompatible save games"? You need to do so to play your older saves in 1.29. Make a backup of the save before you do so though, in case something goes wrong.

If you want to go back to a previous version, go to your Steam Library, right-click Europa Universalis IV, click Properties, go to the Betas tab, and pick the version of your choice.

1.29 save games will not show under 1.28.3 of course.

You should delete your settings.txt when reverting game versions.

Yes I tried both of those. My files will not show up in the updated or Beta version. With "show incompatible" checked or not...

I've put thousands of hours into this game. It's my favorite, probably of all time. I like to play an old version, 1.14. Today it just won't work -- The rights of man is unrecognized as owned dlc (despite being in the folder) -- and so I can't play my game anymore. This is unacceptable -- a game I own, I can't play because of some arbitrary code update many versions upstream.

Paradox, please revert this change until you can push software without breaking old versions.
