Launcher not working since 1.31.4

I'm repeatedly getting "a Javascript error occurred in the main script" error since upgrading to v 1.31.4, see the screenshot attached for specifics.

I have tried:

1) Rolling back to previous versions, no luck.
2) Installing latest Java updates, still get the error.
3) Uninstalling and re-installing EU4, same error.
4) Total uninstall of EU4 including deleting folders in Program Files and Documents directories, and complete re-install, and I'm STILL getting the error and with rolling back to previous versions.

I really have no idea how to get back to playing the game at this point, please help! I have played this game over 8,000 hours with no previous issues and am on a gaming laptop that can easily handle it.

The javascript error is from the launcher. There was an accidental launcher update in January which caused a lot of problems. But it was reverted after one day. Unfortunately it seems that your launcher doesn't get far enough so that it can self-upgrade, so you have to do some manual steps.
This solution might help.
Or you can reinstall the launcher with these instructions.
