So, when I boot up the game via steam, I get the launcher, and it gives me an option to play, or log in, then play.
Originally I was too lazy to set up an account and just got straight into the game, had fun, and then the next day I decided to actually make an account and log in. When I logged in then started to play, I would have FPS lag and frame drops. I didn't know what was causing this originally, but being the tech-savvy guy that I am, I decided to run a few experiments. First, I lowered the graffix, which was annoying due to having to restart the client, no change. I then started a new game, with a smaller map, no change. Running out of options, I then booted up the game without logging into the launcher, no lag, was able to play on fastest setting on the largest map with max empires on the highest setting just fine. . . until about 2400+.
So, firstly, is this a known issue? Is this issue getting fixed? What are some of the disadvantages to not logging into the launcher before playing and the advantages to logging into the launcher before playing?
