Ok, so Cossacks is released, I have updated most of my mods manually since many of them are no longer supported by their respective authors (Flag mods mostly). However, the game launcher states that the mods are not compatible. However, I am able to play and the mods work fine, including in Iron Man and MP as they should.... So did I change something in the mod folder incorrectly or is the launch menu a bit finicky?

Had the same issue, try to select "All" again in the dropdown menu and then all mods will be listed. Somehow the list is not complete at the start.
I have the same issue, but "turning it off and back on" seems to work. However I was referring to the "These mods are outdated !", and yet the are updated for 1.14 and work..

They launcher doesn't know if a mod is compatible. If you make a mod you include this information:

name = "XXXX"
path = "mod/XXXXX"
supported_version = "1.13"

Now we get patch 1.14 so the launcher reads the mod file and says that the mod is not compatible. That is all.

If the mod is small then there will be a good chance that the mod works still. But there will be problems if the patch changes files which also the mod changes. As you can guess, the launcher can't know such things.

Nah, you probably didn't do anything wrong. This is a known bug at the moment.

They launcher doesn't know if a mod is compatible. If you make a mod you include this information:
He did update their supported_version. If he hadn't updated them with the correct supported_version, the launcher wouldn't even let him select them.

Now we get patch 1.14 so the launcher reads the mod file and says that the mod is not compatible. That is all.
No, that is not "all"--try updating and uploading a mod to supported_version="1.14" yourself. That supported_version line will get wiped out from the .mod file once it's uploaded. The users can still download and run the mod just fine, just that they'll keep getting the misleading incompatible notification.

If the mod is small then there will be a good chance that the mod works still. But there will be problems if the patch changes files which also the mod changes. As you can guess, the launcher can't know such things.
You completely missed OP's point...

The launcher only checks the supported_version and compares it to the current version. The difference from the old launcher is that you can still select old mods, but you will get a warning.

Did you change the supported_version in the .mod file?

That is wrong.

That is right.

You completely missed OP's point...

Really? I guess that is exactly the reason why he can play with a mod when the launcher says that the mod is not compatible. ;-)

Ah, so the new launcher does allow obsolete mods. You guy still need to fix the problem with the false warning, though. Presently, mods with supported_version="1.14" lose that line after upload, and the users end up seeing that warning message even though the launcher recognizes the mods as up-to-date.

That is wrong.
Very well, I was wrong about the new launcher's not blocking older mods; I was used to the old launcher's graying out older mods. You're the one who's wrong, however, for brushing off reports of false warnings because the supported_version line's getting wiped out. How about replying to the rest of the post, huh, instead of cherry-picking one line?

Sorry, you miss the point. He has problems because the old mod includes still the line supported_version = "1.13". So the launcher says that the mod is not compatible. But he wonders because he can play with the mod. I explained why this is possible. That was all. Read his and my post again. But read more carefully:

It seems that uploading a mod drops the supported_version string. I've fixed this so it should arrive in the next hotfix. For now, just ignore the warning, or manually add supported_version to the .mod files.

Thanks for addressing the issue. I could care less what the launcher tells me since I know whether my mods are actually up-to-date, but it was quite annoying getting spammed 100+ messages of "hey man please update your mod!"

I'll let the other folks who reported this issue in the modding subforum know you've fixed this.

Are you going to keep parroting your "everything's fine, y'all are just doin' it wrong" line now that a dev has confirmed it's an actual issue? Why don't you go tell every modder in this thread that they're all clueless fools who can't manage to edit 1.13 to 1.14?
