Launcher Fails to update

I just reinstalled windows and started brand new. I installed eu4 and it installed a launcher version from 2020.5 and it wont update. it says something went wrong please contact support. Iv tried other solutions from other threads but nothing is working

Please try this:

- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- exit the Steam app entirely
- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam
OR
- exit the Epic app entirely
- run EpicGamesLauncher.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the Epic client

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

I had already done that after seeing it on multiple other threads, I found a different thread that had launcher files to manually update them and I tried that, here are the log files

Mine did the same and post above was no help. Two things that made mine work,

1) Windows defender, allow game thru. There are two eu4 things you need to let go thru, one is dowser and the other is the exe file
2) Turn off "run as administrator" on the eu4 executable file.

what part of windows defender do I need to allow it through? as far as I know its not blocking it, and I'm not running eu4 as an admin

This error means your computer is not on good internet time, which confuses our servers. Go into the Date&Time control panel and make sure Set Time Automatically is ON. Then hit the Sync Now button.

Then run the game again, the launcher will probably update itself now.

This finally fixed a 7 month issue & I just want to say thank you!!!! May the gaming Gods bless you.
