I'm having some trouble launching CK2. When I launch the game from Steam, the launcher appears and immediately crashes while giving me a "Ck2 has stopped working" error. I'm able to bypass this problem if I launch the game from the directory with the exe, but I cannot use steam with this method. Stranger enough, this is happening with all my Paradox games that use some sort of launcher such as Hearts of Iron 3 and Victoria 2. Europa Universalis 3 seems to work just fine as it doesn't use a launcher. I'm not really sure what triggered this problem as I've been able to play all these games before, but any help would be appreciated.

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
You almost certainly have a .NET problem, as the launchers use that but the games do not. As a start visit the Windows update site and let it install all .NET updates and patches it wants to.
Turned out I had missed a few Windows updates, and .NET was among them. This worked perfectly. Thank you very much.
