Launcher auto-disabling mods

Honestly I'm slowly losing my mind with this and I have no idea what the problem is. Recently I've had an issue where the game is auto-disabling mods in the launcher with no way to enable them, I've tried re-installing the mods and game, even verified game files, but nothing seems to work. I doubt it's an issue with version compatibility as it's doing this to old and recently updated mods alike.

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods in BOTH the Steam Workshop and the Paradox mod site mods.paradoxplaza.com
- delete the folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/mod/
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/mods_registry.json (if present)
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/launcher-v2.sqlite (if present)
- run the game up and check the launcher is okay with no mod or other errors
- subscribe to a few mods

- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

It seemed to work, however now a new issue is popping up, my mods are apparently missing 'Descriptor Files' and can't be enabled. Everything is up to date and I re-verified game files.

As for the antivirus I just use Microsoft Defender

In the Windows search box enter Ransomware. Enable Controlled Folder Access if disabled, then go into the Apps Allowed through page there. Are any of our apps shown as having been blocked there? If so enable them ... steam.exe , stellaris.exe , and paradox launcher.exe should be in there too!
