Late game freezing

Hi. For some reason, I couldn't post this all in 1 shot because the system thought it was spam and told me to "change my content", so I'm doing it in pieces

I have been playing a long campaign as Rome (~100h) and the game now freezes. I lowered my graphics settings to the lowest I could go, updated my nVidia driver and even got more memory in case that was the problem but none of these solved it. The saved game I attached will play for 3 more (in game) days and then freezes on me. I can still click around to get information but there is no progress in terms of time. No new orders can be given. You cannot pause or save.

Part 2....

This converstaion started on another thread (Game Freezes A Lot in Tech Support) where one of the participants noticed that there was a huge list of all the dead characters still in the file and when he cleared that list, the game could continue for a little while. The attached file is quite large and maybe that is the reason why.

Just wondering if anyone is looking at this. At the moment, I cannot continue with my existing game I don't think its worth starting another game knowing sooner or later, that game will freeze as well.
