So I started a game with Itza, cause I wanted to try a thing I saw on youtube, and after enacting the last reform, in 1500 I started waiting for them(like one usually does in Mesoamerica), several ships(France, Portugal, Aragon, Castille, England.....ottomans) show up in the Gulf of Mexico and even more little armies cross my land with a conquistador......it's all well and fine since the waiting start becoming a bit too long for me, but FINALLY England starts a colony north to my position, 5 years after the declare war on me, and I gladly give them what they want, so they make that core, and BOOM REFORM! in 1557.......I've been waiting for 57 years and it seems a lot to me, so I went to check the loading section and I saw my world map.....basically Portugal who usually is the first making colonies in the new World, didn't even started a single colony in America, but decided(just cause I was playing as Itza) to start colonizing Africa first.......now, I don't know if that's a normal waiting for the europeans to reach mesoamerica, maybe it's normal, but I feel like they could have done better

you are supposed to find them, dont you get colonizers?, what you do is start a colony the furthest you can go to africa, and if theres a native declare war ans core their land, now you can cancel that colony and jump further ahead using that core

I'm sorry, maybe I didn't explain well the situation...I'm Itza, I'm in the middle of america(mexico) I'm SURROUNDED by TERRA INCOGNITA and I can't go anywhere....I can't even see Cuba from my view and I can't build ships( well actually I can't at all), and I didn't tech up, I'm still at 1 1 1........Florida is beyond my reach, California is beyond my reach, Colombia...is beyond my reach so Africa is just a little too much beyond my reach....just a little

exploration ideas let you uncover terra incognita, focus on reforming your religion, i assume you can build boats after reforming

having said that i havent played a mexican country so I dont know how speedy they are at it (otoh the slower they are the more of a chance to find a colony closer), but as an incan country i have done what i said

If you revert back to 1.13 you don't have to wait this long. The 57 years seems quite common these days.

There's unfortunately not much one can do rather than expand to the north and the south and hope they show up

Yeah I know all of this, but:

exploration ideas let you uncover terra incognita, focus on reforming your religion, i assume you can build boats after reforming

To take exploration ideas I would have to spend something like 4K adm points(but even 5K or more as the other institutions appear), then I would have to spend another 1k dip to get the possibility to hire conquistador, but since I'm a primitive I could not build boats to explore the sea(so...it's not really worth it)

Yeah, damn Spain and Portugal, I did a little of savescum, got back to 1500(from 1557) with an old save and well....in 1530 aragon was not integrated by Spain in the marriage so they are now colonizing Haiti, almost Cuba.....I guess is just about what the IA decides to do so...luck, basically

Basically Aragon doesn't want my provinces, they just want my gold.....but if I give them some specific provinces they will say "wants other concessions than gold" and accept to take AT LEAST 4 of my most important provinces with 2000 gold and war rep, but if I lose all my gold they won't accept if I don't give them at least 8 provinces....this is reeeeaally weird
