Last of Dead Kings
(Interactivity Protected by Lord Mr. Capiatlist)
Introduction:
It has been some time since I have done an AAR, and this one promises to be interesting. Using the WTWSMS Mod, I played through an observer game, from 480 all the way to 659. At which point, I decided to stop, and allow the community to vote for which failing power I should try and restore. This game promises to be an interesting one, full of ahistory and chaos.
Godogost:
Godogost is the most powerful NPC in my AAR world.
Now, to discover his childhood and early years are difficult, as none would have noticed a man of unremarkable position, growing up in Herulian Russia during the peak of the Last Succession War. You could assume he grew to dislike his foreign lieges, but the conversion to Slavic culture must have appeased him to the point to work with him. (Later research shows he was fired from a council position, presumably Marshal) This time is also when he married, but all but 1 of his children were born in Bengal. One could give as much praise no doubt to his loyal wife, who followed him to the shores of Britain to the halls of the Caliph. He originally fled Russia when it converted to Zoroastrianism, where he served in the Roman Armies during the Last Succession war, where he and another famous Slav Radislav the Old (former Avar Khagan and current Imperial Regent) would defeat the armies of the Cappadocian Candidate. Later, Godogost would try to create a Steppe empire, but would be defeated by the Rouran. Escaping there, he became a commander in the armies of the Caliph, and through the conquest of Perisa, built and adventurer army and took over Bengal. Then, the Buddhists made him abdicate, where his infant son took control nominally, while the Buddhist lords struggle for power in the regency council. Godogost then went to central Germany, where he plots unknown horrors against the world.

Why This?:
Why didn't you just do an AAR from the normal startdates, to show off the historical nations?
That is for a variety of mechanial reasons:
1. Nicene Schisms
2. Islam
3. A Representation of how the game is still interesting ever hundreds of years in.
4. The beginning of the end of the migration era.
5. Some very interesting ahistorical leaders, nations, and battles.
There are also some ahistory reasons:
1. India is in the shadow of the long dead Hepthalite Empire.
2. The ruins of the failed Frisian Empire
3. The Rise and Fall of Godogost, the most dangerous man to have ever lived.
4. The Restored Roman Empire
5. The Immortal control of Oman

Though the Voting is Over, this information is still good for background on the nations:
Nations:
Westliklân
Leader: Tsening Sidei Thiadbrundsoan Engibald
Culture: Old Frisian
Religion: Nicene
Description:
There was a day, long ago, when Westliklân was feared. Rulers of the World they were called. It all started long ago, when the Franks, under the mighty Clovis
conquered Frisia, and displaced its people. On man, the Crown Prince of Frisia, Folcpald became a commander in the Frankish Army. His skill led to the conquest of Thuringia and Alamannia, and countless prestige for the Frankish Kingdom and Folcpald. Eventually, Folcpald would build his own army, and destroy the failing Soissons, and begin building of Europe's most feared Empires. Slowly though, the Empire began to fail, as the Anglo-Saxons pushed them from England and Spain, and rebellious Frisian states, at first under the Christians of Tarraconensis, and later on the pagans, whose rebellion led to what was Soissons to become a new Kingdom called Bidlersân. What more, the Saxons, brutal enemies of the Frisians, have hunted the Empire wherever it could, going as far as to invade Spain to drive them out. Now, the Empire is almost dead, with nothing more than the old city of Parisium under your control, can you strike out against your traitorous vassals in Bidlersân, or will the Empire at last be consumed in fire.
Raydan:
Leader: Queen Niki bint Zabur banu Raydan
Culture: Kahlan
Religion: Miaphysite
Description:
The Ancient Kingdom of Azd'Uman was once the dominate power in the Southern Arabian world. What more, it was the last bastion of old Semitic traditions, until the conversion of Jafnah the Hunter in 544, converted at the sword by the Axumite Empire. Now, two dynasties later, the ancient land still survives, where the other nations fell to the Umma. But Raydan is not in this reduced state due to the Muslims. Instead, the Immortals, in order to regain a new powerbase, invaded Oman, and drove the Raydani to near extinction. Raydan's protectors in Axum are no more, and the splinter kingdom of Yaman is too preoccupied with the Caliph to protect the failing Kingdom.
Oriental Empire:
Leader: Imperator Damianos Polkarios VI the Wise
Culture: Roman
Religion: Nicene
Description:
Where the general case following the Succession Wars was the secession from the Empire, only the Oriens would go as far as to claim the Imperial Title themselves With the crowning of Damianos III in Antioch, a new Empire was formed, creating an unsolvable dispute between the Oriens and Rome. Originally controlling the wealth of Egypt and Syria, the Oriens stood prepared to invade the Ghassanids and create a great Eastern Empire, now, with the reconquest of Egypt by Rome, and Syria's new independence, the true Eastern Empire faces annihilation at the hands of Islam.
Rai:
Leader: Maharaja Raidhan Rai III
Culture: Sindhi
Religion: Hepthalism
A long time ago, before the oldest of memories, came the Hordes. Fierce and terrifying, the Hepthalites poured into India, slaughtering and conquering all they could. In the end, the dark horsemen stopped at the Bengali city of Gauda, and consolidated their realm. India was in a panic, the Horde was prepared to consume all of India, and so, many princes aligned with the Hordes, forsaking their religion, and even their cultures, to appease their new dark masters. The Dravidians were appalled, the Kalabhras soon isolated themselves from India. Then, everything changed. Against all odds, against all beliefs, the Hepthalites
pulled back, their power weakened, and eventually, the Horde was no more. Suddenly, the Bhojid, the Spalahores, the Rai, and the Hunas were in a dangerous situation. In their conversion, they committed the greatest sin against their their former Hindu culture, and knew there was no turning back. This was of no consequence to the Hunas, who were already aliens in Tengriism before the Hepthalites, and quickly sought to replace the Hepthalites as a power. One man though, rose up. Ruler of the petty nation of Rai, his father were one of the first to submit to the Horde, and one of the first to swear total fealty. When the Horde collapsed though, he took his chance. Declaring independence, he quickly declared himself King of Sindh, but this was but the beginning, yes, only the start of Raidhan Rai. He began by conquering the Govindids, avenging the murder of his Grandfather, and then immediately conquering Gujurat. Barely two years afterwards, he began warring against the Bhakti heretics, and expanded down the Western Coastline. Once again, the Hindus were fearful, for every day, it was said, Raidhan Rai became less of a Sindhi, and more of a Hepthalite. And so, terror gripped India. Then, the unexpected happened. The true Horde returned. Chosroes Chubnan the Bold, whose family served under the Hepthalite Emperor's themselves, invaded India, and began to restore the Horde. One day, this all came to an end. India had long been isolated by the Kidarites, a Xionite clan which ruled all of Persia, and established Hepthalism as far as Persepolis itself, had fallen. This new foe, apparently more powerful than the Sassanids, more powerful than the Kidarites, stood poised to conquer all of India, brought fear to the North Indians. Who pushed further and further eastward to escape the Islamic menace. One nation stood. The Hunas, always one apart from the other states, went on the offensive, capturing swaths of Bhojid and Rai land, created an offensive against the Caliph, and won. Over 40,000 of the soldiers of Islam died on the plains of Bhakkar, and all India knew, that a new Horde had arisen. All except Rai. The current King, Raidhan Rai III, is 1 year old, following his father's death to the Slavic Warrior-King Godogost. Collapsing due to civil war, to save the Rai, and restore the glory of the New Horde to India would require Raidhan Rai III to be as good as his namesake. Is he?
Charsianon:
Leader: King Brogimaros de Heraklea the Liberator
Culture: Galatian
Religion: Nicene
Description:
Unlike the previous nations, Charsianon lacks the ancient strength they once possessed. One of the many states which gained independence following the Succession Wars following the death of Emperor Marcus II, Charsianon has maintained its unstable existence for only a few decades. But, in this city state there is potential, for a new Celtic power to arise, free from the destruction at the hands of the Frisians and Saxons.
