I love the new change with mountains as wasteland, but to there are some issues. I wouldn't know all possible issues, but I don't think this is the only one. However I'veread a lot of literature on the Caucasus and the current set-up with one mountain range crossing the whole regions with only passages along the coasts are problematic, it cuts georgia off far too much. Georgia had in mediaval times close relations to the alanians.
Mongol and Kipchak hosts would pass through the mountain at various times. Also there were frequent raids and border clashes between georgians and Avars (people in southwestern dagestan)

We need either to have something like straits allowing for passages of armies, or create some opening in the mountains between kartli and alania for example.

On top of my head I don't know other passes with similiar issues but they might be out there

Not only the case of Causasus, Pyrenees and Alps too. I am not against adding more mountain wasteland, but please respect some historical mountain passes. Savoy is split into two parts when his tow Swiss provinces are given back to Switzerland in the early 16th century, though its definitely possible to cross the Alps from Savoy to Piermont. So as Navarra when its monarch historically inherited the county of Bearn. Now with the new Pyrenees wasteland being added, Bearn and Navarra are no longer connected...

Oh I forgot mentioning that you can freely invade Tibet from India from a wide open gap through Nepal/Bhutan with minor attrition of troops, as if the Himalayas does not exist at all!

India was invaded that way and vice versa in this era though.

the Savoy - Piemonte and Navarra - Bearn passes would greatly improve things, and not just at later starts (when you can start as Navarra without even bordering the Navarra province).

in addition, i think Milan would greatly benefit from bordering Grisons. taking the Valtellina route right now means you have to go through Waldstatte and Grisons, while in reality the Italian gateway to Valtellina (which was historically part of Grisons) is just outside of Milan. it would thus make more sense to be able to go straight to Grisons from Milan.

I know, though I believe that the gap is too wide and should be further narrowed to two or three mountain passes between India and Tibet. But I just wanna point out your double standard when adding those mountain wastelands in this new patch. Still, it is much easier to cross the Alps or the Pyreness than the Himalayas right?

And how many Berber tribes (the Almoravid, the Almohad...) have crossed the Anti Atlas, conquered Marrakesh, and establish a lasting dynasty in the Moroccan heartland even before the Eu time period? And can you explain why the Anti Atlas is closed while the Himalayas is left wide open?

?? I remember some TIbeto-Bengal empire but in the early modern era I don´t think they were invaded from Tibet by anyone.

For instance:
Bhutan should clearly not be cut off from India but was invaded by both Tibet and later Qing. The Gurkhas also invaded Tibet from Nepal.
See map D here for Chinese/Tibetan army movements in Nepal as well as Nepalese offensives into Tibet:

Had not Great Britain expanded in India Qing influence in at least Nepal and the various Himalayan states would be far from incredible.
