I'm not talking about best peace deals, I'm talking about the most participants in the war against you. (You vs HRE.) and you won said war.

I once won a war agents the Scandinavian countries, most of northern Germany, the Italian countries and Castile. As Austria controlling southern Germany, Switzerland and most of the Balkans and Bohemia. I took northern Italy, most of the German countries, a good chunk of Iberia, and a foothold in Scandinavia. Got most of it through separate peace deals with junior members. Denmark was the war leader (for some reason.) infamy was through the roof though. I think it was like 79/36 infamy plus excommunication, super instability, revolts everywhere, high war exhaustion and bad relations with most of Europe. (Ouch.)

Worth it.

I would have never pulled it out like that mate.

I am thinking of turning off infamy just for that, winning huge wars and not being allowed to get what you deserve.

I guess my biggest win would be as Byzantine Empire, I had half of Greece and half of Anatolya and managed to fight off the Ottomans, half of Italy and Spain. Of course I did not gain anything from Spain but I annexed a part of Naples resulting in the worst Italy border ever.

Pretty epic win. Although if I want to do I super conquest of everything in existence I go and set the infamy limit to something huge like 9999999.99 and kill everything. :D

Well I like the idea of something stopping you from WC but when you are a noob like me it is really tough. And even if you are not a noob you realise how illogical the game works.

' My Queen I have good news and bad news '
' What is it Jonathan '
' Our armies crushed the French in Normandy and the Scots have surrendered '
' Good news indeed. And the bad ones? '
' It is the Serbs.... they annexed Sicily '
' THOSE MONSTERS! '

Unfortunately. And anyways, if I remember correctly the AI does not get infamy so I guess it is fare to have it down. Stability cost and constant rebellions plus low tech should be enough to make you think twice anyways

The AI gets infamy, same as a human player. Ever seen ie. Bohemia or the Mamluks becoming dishonourable scum for passing their limit?
The thing is, infamy is a zero-sum system; If either side gets infamy in a peace deal, the other loses the same amount. They're also much more restrictive about picking up infamy, instead peaceing out for other things. Only time anyone crosses the limit is either when they keep annexing HRE minors, or a tribal nation gets their limit drastically dropped due to an incapable ruler. I've seen the latter result in a negative infamy limit occasionally.

You'll also gain infamy from events such as "King's reputation tarnished", although that alone is so rare that it will never push you over the limit.

Back on topic, I've won wars against large opponents as Brandenburg, but the most recent pitted me against Bohemia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, and Croatia. I had Pommerania, Prussia, and subjugated Imperial states in the north. Even though the enemy allianced had more the double the number of troops I had, I took advantage of local superiority, my Western troops versus their Eastern, and picking off individual alliance members until I took Silesia from Bohemia and cut Lithuania down to size.

Mine's not really that impressive, kinda new. Basically, I was England and wanted to invade Scotland. I knew that Aragon, Brittany and France would aid Scotland and I was fine with that completely. However, what I didn't suspect was for my ally Portugal to also favour the Scots over me.

Then all of the Irish Countries piled in. I used my Navy to defend against everyone I could, eventually bringing Castille and Denmark into the war to aid me. I managed to beat the Scots and vassalize them, before making White Peace with Aragon and the rest of my enemies.

Not very impressive since it was on Very Easy, but this was my second game ever.
Playing as Rev France from 1789, I DoW'd Spain and Portugal from day 1 to get stability to -3. I proceeded to randomly DoW until I was at war with absolutely everyone. Even Ming and Vijiyanagar.
By the end of the game my infamy was sky-high and I had annexed half of Europe. Half of the French homeland was also being torn apart by rebels.

Love it!
*meanwhile in French-aragonese-Briton-Scottish allience HQ*

Servant: "Sir sir! the English have mobilized against our Scottish drinking buddies!"
King of Aragon: IMPOSSIBRU!!!!
King of France: We must put a stop to this!
King of Brittany: does Scotland have the rum in their fridge?
King of Aragon: yes they do.
Everyone in the room: NUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

*Anglo-Portuguese meeting room*

King of England (you): we need your help in our totally justifiable war for rum with Scotland, do you accept?
King of Portugal: do I get any of the rum?
King of England: no.
King of Portugal: then **** off out of my country! This is war!
King of England: but we're in Lincolnshire.
King of Portugal: oh, right.

*word of the war gets out*

King of Tyrone: England's now in a war with half of Western Europe! Lets join in!
Other irish kings: YYYYAAAAYYYY!!!!

*years later*

English commander in chief: we won the war, got the rum and accidentally vassalized the scots!
English peasants:yay!

THE END

*2nd playthrough*

England: Hey, Denmark, Austria, Papal States and Brittany, wanna be allies?

Austria and Papal States: F**k you. *Leave*

Brittany and Denmark: HELL YES!

*England Declares war on Scotland BEFORE they can make any alliances at all.*

Anglo-Danish-Swedish-Briton-Holstein-Norweigan HQ -

Everyone: Har De Har HA

French-Scottish HQ:

France: Hey, Scotland....you might be f**ked here. Sorry man.

Scotland: DON'T GIVE UP. OUR MIGHTY HIGHLANDER ARMY WILL MAGICALLY SPAWN AND CRUSH MOST OF THE ENGLISH FORCES!

France: M'k.

*Meanwhile in the Highlands*

Robert Knolles, English General: Where the hell did these people come from? We have all of our troops spread out!

*Scandinavians Arrive*

Robert Knolles: :)

Irish Tribes: Let's join a war that we will obviously be crushed in!

*After War*

English: Hmm, so we vassilized Scotland, took over Tyrone, crushed the Irish Rebels to the point where they will have no chance in the future and paid France some money for peace after foolishly sending soldiers into their territory.

We also accidentally ended Brittany. Like seriously, they joined and were then annexed by France. We destroyed a nation....

Portugal: Sounds like a good day's work! Now help us kill Spain.
