Is it only english language in the game? Since its swedes who make the game they should put swedish language in the game?

And cut down the number of people willing to play by a factor of 100?
English, French, German - they are all included.
But they could add swedish to. would be better to play with that for us scandinavians since we understand it, and like i said its swedes who make the damn game

And also afaik there was also a polish version in the past done by a polish publisher.
Don't know if with the STEAM-only time the boxed versions will be no more though.
After all we still can buy boxes even for STEAM only games, but who knows.

The mechanism is there to MOD in other languages, so get some enthusiasts together and go for it.
rofl, yeah why not swedish? they already have more than enough manpower to translate it! they r mostly swedes in PDS anyway... i suspect! but ofc dont cut off english!!!

I'm part of a international paradox interactive games group on FB. We did a poll about everyone's nationality (The group has 500+ people now), turns out Poles are the majority, beating American and British players by a considerible margin.
I would have thought it would be Scandis, considering Paradox is a Swedish developer.
I dont see the problem using swedish in game. some paradox games using words i never heard before and must try find out what it means and cant even find it out on google. so would be easy to have it. i never said remove the english but if they could add other language.
Do you want a full official translation into Swedish, or Swedish word parallel with English and other languages ?
Full translation is time demanding because you will need someone to go trough every text and pictures to translate, its also work that don't stop, every time you update or change something you will need to go through every effected text to re-translate.
i dont know if paradox do this in-house or if they outsource it, and if they then update language in-house as they go after launching patches and expansions where the amount of new words and sentences is relative low.
If its outsourced it adds cost that could be better used in other places than a translation into a language like Swedish that's relatively low demand since its a few relatively numbers of players, and since Swedish and Scandinavian people in general (if not in rule) have a very good basic understanding of English since we are required to learn it in school from a young age. If it was another language whose primary nation didn't require or even expect a good grasp of English (Germany, hint hint nudge nudge) one could start to debate the need, but there's not really a need from the Scandinavian nations to translate from English.
If its NOT outsourced it then becomes tedious, time consuming, never ending work that will zap time from other projects. And yes, they could force a rule that whenever someone change or add something in English they have to add it in Swedish, but the text will still have to be complete before translation begin because writing two texts and having to edit two drafts it simultaneous is such a complete waste of time.
You say you have found word that you don't know, and cant find the definition of, is this in informational texts, or is this flavor names on units, fantasy words etc?
Using Swedish together with other language cause even more confusion and will force even more players (basically everyone that's not Swedish since they have zero knowledge of it) to exit the game to figure out words that could easily have stayed as the used language to increase ease of flow of information to as many people as possible.

lol. The first foreign language we germans learn is english. I had it from 3rd class onwards. I even play most games in english, most mods didn´t support german. :blink:
I hinted at germany more on the "good" part since i fully know germany smartly teach english but the people dont go and try to use it.
Had a friend stay in Germany for two years, it was two years of hearing him complain on how the germanised English where hopeless to understand and everything was translated and (the worst horror of all) dubbed. I know that compare to other nations germans have a basic understanding of english, however compared to sweden the long time quality of english in germans is quite low, and if you actually use it then you sir, from what i have been told, are a great and fine exception, and i would like to welcome you into the civilized world. (English-European-centralized 19-century viewpoint insult hint hint nudge nudge)
Its a sad truth that basically all mods are english only except the most popular ones who gains a large following and volunteer translators. Mods should be experienced by as many as possible, its a frustrating time when you find interesting mods thats not in a language one speak.

Yes thats the problem with us, most guys didn´t use english after school. Most people didn´t need it for work. Except the big companys, with their denglish phrases. My school time is long gone, i caught myself sometimes struggling with english grammar. As a side note, no offence meant, did someone hear ever a english or amerikan speaking german? That´s really horrible. :blink:
It´s normal that a foreigner didn´t speak without a accent, or try to put his grammar into the foreign language.
While we are talking languages, please Paradox can you have the English version proof-read by someone with English as their first language? When vic2 first came out some of the pop-ups were hilarious. I'm always very impressed by the foreign language skills of most Europeans, but no one can pick up confusing grammar like a native speaker.
