So here I am playing as Siam. I manage to abolish serfdom and then also abolish slavery time passes. It's been over 50 years with no slavery, yet the Landowners still have the Pro-Slavery Ideology. There should be an event or journal entry that removes this Ideology after X years of not having slavery. With 50 years of no slavery, there shouldn't be all that many people left alive who owned slaves themselves. It's time to let go.

I think it's in the game?
I may be mistaken, but I imagine you're probably thinking of the event "The Last Monarchists" that allows you to remove the Monarchist trait from the Landowners once you've been a republic long enough. I don't think there are any events that remove Landowner support of slavery; it's just that developed mid- or late-game economies tend to have weak Landowners making their support of slavery a non-issue in most cases.

Then again, I haven't played a particularly long run since some time around 1.2, so I could be way off base.

Yes, I am not sure either if I thinking about "the Last Monarchists" event or if there also exists one for Slavery.

I will check in the files in a few hours

Edit : There is the event "slavery_law_events.7" which seems to trigger after some times and remove the pro-slavery ideology to all IG which have it.
It does not trigger with the USA, which has a different one with the journal entry
