There is a discussion about mines in the ocean but what about land mines? I know they were used extensively in the African campaign and I'm assuming in every other theatre. They exclusively helped the defender so my suggestion would be to make them a province improvement like any building that give maluses to attackers. They would not be large maluses, they can not be repaired(they can be rebuilt using IC), and they are fairly quick to build and a bit expensive to put up to prevent spamming.

This is pretty much just part of the "entrenchment" bonus. Digging trenches, setting up machinegun/ AT gun positions and laying minefields are all abstracted as part of this. Perhaps there could be landmine technology to improve this bonus by 5% or something, but anything more is too small scale

If it's just about giving a malus to attackers, I think that the entrenchment bonus kind of implies that, as calebmarkle said. Or simply land forts. It's a part of fortifications that helps defenders so..

I was thinking of something between forts and entrenchment which would stay behind after the troops move. They may take their AT guns and MGs but nobody takes the mines with them.
Also setting up a mine field is far less complex and costly compared to a fortification network.

Personally I think thats too much of a tactical level where hoi is a strategic level. I don't think you can realistically mine an entire province. I agree its part of enchrenchment.

Yeah, I believe the icon for "support equipment" or whatever it was included a landmine, so it's just abstracted as part of that.
It's not a bad idea, but it goes under entrenchment and fortifications, in my eyes.

Also there's issues when you move out and leave a minefield behind, it needs to be added to all maps else it's as much a threat to you as the enemy.
