Dude, its not that hard to code it in. Has nothing to do with being a billion dollar company.

Also, you seem to be the one going after everyone who has something negative or constructive about the game. I'm just tired of reading your sh*t on every post acting like you run the damn company. Your just some dude who's overly excited about the game. It doesn't give you the right to start lashing out at people because you don't like how they handle their business. Get over yourself dude.

Ah! Ok this does clarify your earlier reaction. I'm not going against anyone here but I must say that I have, indeed, found that many people confuse observation with blind criticism. Although there is a lot of both blind criticism and blind praise going on... hmmm maybe I'm stating the obvious! Time to go to bed

I agree with jump even SC4 had that, it was nice. Sim City 2013 was nice to to burn the garbage and see the ammount going down. But well, choices. Just dont forget that Maxis is in the city building industry from 1989. I bet that Skyline 2 will be even better. :)

SC4 also didn't have a 4-tile road-based zoning system and individuals that had to go and collect the rubbish and bring it back. This game is not SC4 and whilst I'm not a huge fan of the garbage dumps myself (too small mainly), it's not a big deal.

I agree the garbage dump look very depressing compared to SC5 counterparts. By a mile.
The trucks have no garages to park in. Workers have no shelter at all.

Yes, and Colossal Order has 13 people working for them. For SimCity 4, Maxis had 23 software engineers, 11 artists, 3 art directors, and paid several outside studios for work as well. Who knows how many people were involved in SimCity 2013, cause no one wants to take credit for it, but there are group photos with about 90 people in them, so most likely even more than SC4.

Making models and animations takes lots of labor... I say that CO are doing a pretty freaking amazing job for the number of people that they have.

Edit: Oh, and SC4 also borrows some assets from SC3000 as well.

God another bitching thread before the game comes out.

Once again.

This game is not by Billion Dollar Company EA/Maxis.
This game is $24
This is the first of this type of game by these developers (City Builder)
This is being created more old school as in they are releasing 1.0 and continuing to work on it. Clearly there is a demand for what there is in game value now so they have decided to release it in March. I think it was a good idea myself with Cities XXL being nothing but exact game with slight performance to the if you could all it AI/Simulation I think this game was perfect to release now.

Nothing wrong with bring up feedback but how about we make that once we have the game in our hands and then give out our feedback that is very critical of the game.

It wasn't a bitching thread until you made it into one. The guy has made an observation on a ploppable building and personally I tend to agree with that observation.

I want each of you to stop making comments directed towards other forum members. If you're not discussing the thread topic, don't post. If you simply don't like the thread, but can't provide any valuable discussion, don't post.

As for garbage landfills, it's not a coding issue. The building does gradually change it's visual as it fills up. The problem you're bringing up, as far as I can tell, is that you don't like the initial graphic when you first place the building. I agree, it does seem a bit silly. Let's not go overboard though and start accusing Colossal Order of things just because of one visual. They are working extremely hard on many things. So help us out by providing feedback, not just saying you dislike something and then stating there is "no excuse" like we've committed some crime.

I hope there is a mod that allows no garbage dump and just eliminates the trash. I just hate it in my cities, not that I think garbage is un-realistic, but the look of a tiny plot to place a cities trash is utterly un-realistic. I loved SC4's Garbage Chute mod that just did the nice job of shoving garbage "over the abyss"

Another mod would maybe be to have a city ordinance that ships the trash out with trucks to the "beyond" have a nice little collection building that local trucks drop the trash off at, and larger trucks drive off into the sunset with our garbage. Simple elegant and more realistic...? maybe at least that is what I would be hoping for.

I think its awesome they are making a city builder game. But just because you only have 13 people shouldn't be an excuse for everything. The blue prints already been created. Its not like CO is inventing the wheel here. Lets be honest. Again, major props to them. I sure as hell couldn't make this game.
