ok, after almost 4 days of power gaming , here are my 2 cent for battletech

1: light mechs are useless
in the later game noone use them at all .....even after the 3rd mission i didnt used mine anymore anyway.
there should be some kind of mech restrictions to each mission, even the random contracts need this

2: the weapons
weapons needs some kind of restriction too
i mean a light mech should not run arroubnd with large lasers, or 2x AC20
an AC20 should be only equipable on a heavy mech, same for large lasers or lrm 20x ....
if every mech can equip every weapon , than there is no need for a ac2 or 5 or 10
i even doubt ppl using the SMR at all ^^

3: we need to be able to LOOSE our mechs for good ....
as soon as everyone has his 4 mechs he want, all other mechs are pointless.
if we loose our mechs when they get destroyed, the game becomes definatly more challenging.
right now it is : ahh no matter if the mech goes down, i can repair it after...a pilot we can train again, no need to think about a pilot.

4: the jump ship
these video of how the ship docks , and start to jum, is nice, ok, but totaly useless if we have to watch it 30x because we jump arround .....we dont need this kind of time burning.
a jumpship should be able to jump from point A to B without to let me watch a video 100x ....

5:enemies
we do need more mech enemies, not more vehicles.

6: enemie DMG
enemies should use the same weapons we do in case about dmg. and they should be maxxed out like our mechs.
an enemie mech who can carry 8 weapons, but comes along with 2 weapons is not even worth to target :p

7:planets, areas, and other stuff.
it would be nice, if we could freely jump into an enemie territory, and attack an facility, or even take it over to build our owen mechs.
some faktions should have there owen mechs, right now it seems, that every faktion has acces to any mech at all, there should be mechs a faktion cant acces or use, unless they stole it, build it via an enemie facillity.

8:salvaging
to have way to get mechs salvage is good, but when we disable a mech in a mission by destroying booth legs, this mech should appear at the end of a mission as salvage, completly, so that we can/need only to repair his leggs.if we kill a mech by destroying his chassis, its fine if we just get parts.

9: currency
the whole shop system atm is totaly unbalanced, every shop almost have the same items, everywhere on 95% of all planets we can buy the same stuff.
the money we get in game is by far useless ......why i have to pay my owen crew for fixing the mech ? what they need money for ? paying for fuel and ammo and weapons and mechs in a shop ok.but why the drop ship genereates costs for me ? my point is, money is useless....we should only get weapons, mechs, ammo from the battlefield.only the most basic stuff we should be able to buy. but right now : we just go to a shop buy 40 medium lasers, 40x lrm20 40x ac20 and ammo, and thats it ...after this, mostly all shops become useless.

10:we need some kind of "crafting"
it would be nice if we can build, craft our owen mechs and to choose wich weapons they should be able to carry, and where the hardpoints would be. based on the mechs we already have in game
example : i want to build a centurion, but want his hardpoints changed like 2 less lasers but 2 more ballistic, or less ballistic for more missles. i mean when a mech can use 2x ballistic 4x missles and 2 lasers. why i cant change it into 1 ballistic 2x missels and 4 lasers ? would be nice after all

11:since i love this game
i definatly hope that u will go on with this game, and that it will improve much much more in next time, keep up this awsome work
thnx for it

The Panther is useful for more than the first 3 scenarios. And in some scenario a light mech is useful. sadly we either have the Panther, fast mechs with paper tin armor or the Firestarter, that is rare and specialized.

2: the weapons
weapons needs some kind of restriction too

please, point me to the light mech that can mount 2 AC20. Those weight 14 tons apiece. If a light mech (max 35 tons in that category) has the needed slots after mounting them it has 7 tons at most for structure, engine, gyro, armor and ammunition.
A bit of math: structure 3.5 tons, engine with a 35 rating for a speed of 1, 0.5 ton, gyro 1 ton. 5 shots, 1 ton. Armor 1 ton for 80 points.

My Blackjack can keep the distance from the mech moving 1/2 without trouble and a single hit of an AC/2 will damage the internal structure of that mech. Terrific, but for the guy piloting that aberration.
Light mech with large lasers have been around for ages, the Commando variable with a large laser has been printed in 1986.

So, tone down the hyperbole.

right now it is : ahh no matter if the mech goes down, i can repair it after...a pilot we can train again, no need to think about a pilot.

We lose our mechs for good if the whole lance is destroyed. And the destroyed equipment can't be repaired. Simply most engagement aren't that dangerous.
If bejond a level of damage the mech where reduced to salvage we would need a higher compensation from the employer to keep the unit viable.

4: the jump ship
these video of how the ship docks , and start to jum, is nice, ok, but totaly useless if we have to watch it 30x because we jump arround .....we dont need this kind of time burning.
a jumpship should be able to jump from point A to B without to let me watch a video 100x ....

Agreed, a fast forward would be nice.

5:enemies
we do need more mech enemies, not more vehicles.

Why? I love the difference in the scenarios and the veicles are part of that. Wait till you meet your first SRM carrier. Itwill you have sweat blood.

6: enemie DMG
enemies should use the same weapons we do in case about dmg. and they should be maxxed out like our mechs.
an enemie mech who can carry 8 weapons, but comes along with 2 weapons is not even worth to target :p

They use the same weapons. I haven't seen any mech with reduced weaponry, In the initial battles they often have reduced armor, but that is part of Battletech lore.

Maybe in the future.

8:salvaging

We have more parts available (I had often 3 parts of a single mech available), the problem is that the employer will not award us a full mech as one pic. it count as 3.

9: currency
the whole shop system atm is totaly unbalanced, every shop almost have the same items, everywhere on 95% of all planets we can buy the same stuff.

Stipend for the crew, they aren't slaves, maintenance for the mechs, the ship and all other stuff. They don't run on air (they are in space, BTW, so even air has a cost).

No thanks, I know what monstrosities can be built that way. Setting wise, you need a crew of mech designers to redo a mech that way.

No need for any restriction (as they make no sense whatsoever - you have a leopard dropship which can drop 4 mechs up to 100 tons each) if you are so worried about not using light mechs later in the game then just choose to use a light mech. I will still run my custom Jenner on 3 skull missions with few problems.

i mean a light mech should not run arroubnd with large lasers, or 2x AC20
an AC20 should be only equipable on a heavy mech, same for large lasers or lrm 20x ....

As @Kutuzov1 said, there are no light mechs running around with 2 or even 1 AC20 as they follow the same rules as us with regard to weight.
The other weapons have their place - AC2 and to some extent AC5 can be used to snipe. I have SRMs on my close range brawlers as they actually pack quite a punch, especially good at crit seeking.

3: we need to be able to LOOSE our mechs for good ....
as soon as everyone has his 4 mechs he want, all other mechs are pointless.

I disagree with your notion that "all other mechs are useless", I have backup mechs for when others are in for repair or refit, and some of those are tailored for different environments (normally hot running mechs for arctic biomes and especially cool running mechs for desert biomes)
But i do agree we need to run the risk of "losing" our mechs if they take too much damage. In other words they should leave salvage in the same manner as enemy mechs if the central torso is taken out.

4: the jump ship

Not going to argue there.

5:enemies
we do need more mech enemies, not more vehicles.

No, we already face too many mechs from a lore point of view but I'm willing to overlook that for the sake of an entertaining game. Personally I'd like to see more vehicles, and a greater variety of them.

6: enemie DMG
enemies should use the same weapons we do in case about dmg. and they should be maxxed out like our mechs.
an enemie mech who can carry 8 weapons, but comes along with 2 weapons is not even worth to target :p

As I said before, the enemy has the same restrictions on weapons we have, but they tend to use stock variants

7:planets, areas, and other stuff.
it would be nice, if we could freely jump into an enemie territory, and attack an facility, or even take it over to build our owen mechs.

Unlikely to happen, there are so few mech factories surviving that they are heavily protected - we're talking the sort of protection it would take an army to capture, way more than we can muster.

some faktions should have there owen mechs, right now it seems, that every faktion has acces to any mech at all, there should be mechs a faktion cant acces or use, unless they stole it, build it via an enemie facillity.

Faction specific mechs may be something we will see in the future, and i look forward to that day.

9: currency
the whole shop system atm is totaly unbalanced, every shop almost have the same items, everywhere on 95% of all planets we can buy the same stuff.
the money we get in game is by far useless ......why i have to pay my owen crew for fixing the mech ? what they need money for ? paying for fuel and ammo and weapons and mechs in a shop ok.but why the drop ship genereates costs for me ? my point is, money is useless....we should only get weapons, mechs, ammo from the battlefield.only the most basic stuff we should be able to buy. but right now : we just go to a shop buy 40 medium lasers, 40x lrm20 40x ac20 and ammo, and thats it ...after this, mostly all shops become useless.

What is your workplace's phone number? I want to tell them you are willing to work for free ;)
These people aren't slaves, they need to be paid. Machinery costs to operate, fuel, lubricants, maintenance (with all the small parts and repairs that go with it) it all costs money, nothing is free.

That's two separate points there.
We wont ever be able to build our own mechs from scratch (well, not in this era anyway- if it were that easy everyone would be doing it)
Modifying the existing chassis is something of a sore point on here for some. The original tabletop rules did not have the hardpoint system we see in this game. The only limits to outfitting your mechs were weight and space so you want to swap the Centurions AC for a LRM? not a problem in TT

11:since i love this game
i definatly hope that u will go on with this game, and that it will improve much much more in next time, keep up this awsome work
thnx for it

Amen!
